After a second Drudoc’s voice bid him to enter. “..Come in!” She said.

Kaden went ahead and walked into the Commodore’s office. He had the chips in his pockets and was ready to get them replaced. He said to the Commodore, “I have the chips with me. I am going to go ahead and replace them and we can test getting you a straw. Kaden then walked over to the replicator and then replaced the broken matrix chips and then stood up. He said to the Commodore, “I am going to attempt to create a straw for you. Hopefully everything is taken care of”. He then said to the replicator, “Computer, please produce a normal straw.” He then waited to see the results.

Ensign Buchanan Engineering Officer

After a second the computer beeped and a straw appeared. This time it held its form and no problems came up. “..Thank you Ensign.” Drudoc said in reply once she got it and took a small sip. Setting the glass aside then she indicated for him to take a seat, once he did she continued. “..As you may have noticed Ensign, our current chief engineer has been reassigned to another posting. As such given your recent efforts aboard the Ark Angel you are receiving a promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade and will assume the position of Chief Engineering Department head and on my senior staff as of 0900 hours this morning. Congratulations..” She said sliding over the lt jg pip box.

Kaden was taken back at the promotion to CE. He was aware of the Chief Engineering Officer leaving but had no idea he would have been in the chase for the CE position, much less being given the position. He had just been doing his duties as an engineer without having the expectation to be the CE. It was something he wanted but had no inclination that he would be put into that position already. He then said to the captain, “This was not something I was expecting but thank you very much. I am hoping to do the best I can as the new chief engineer. I will continue working the way I was and include everyone and make sure everything is running as it should.” He just got very excited about doing this new job. He was hoping he could stand up to the requirements to fill that position. He knew he had the engineering knowledge and understanding to continue being a good engineer, just need things added with being the CE. He then said to the captain, “If it is okay, I would like to return to engineering and announce the change. Am I free to go at this point?” Kaden then waited for the captains response.
