Demil strode into the holodeck a few minutes after his shift ended, dressed in civilian “outdoorsy” clothes. “Computer, activate program Lis Forest Alpha. Set time to 2030 hours.” He leaned back as a hill faded into existence beneath him, running his normally perfectly clean hands through the slightly damp grass. Above him, evergreen trees towered, framing the twilight starscape. Demil stared up into the sky, letting himself relax into the simulation of the Trill countryside. Various harmless insects buzzed above and around him, adding to the sounds of the breeze whistling through the trees and a nearby stream. A soft, contended smile cracked Demil’s face, as his eyes darted from star to star above him.
