After leaving Planetary Science Lab 1, V’alura headed straight for the Cybernetics Lab to begin running various simulations. V’alura personally loved running simulations. She even built a specialized console from the ground up just for running the most refined and powerful simulation software (that she also developed from the ground up). For today she kept her special console put away. Though potent she was confident in the ability of the cybernetics lab and her team to handle the tasks before them.

“En. Lis will be in charge of the evolutionary simulation.” V’alura said, “Genetics was one of his specializations at the lab and I trust his judgment on how to proceed. I will begin a simulation on what possible technological advancements the Forseth could have made since the Volograd last dropped by their system. Anyone not working on either of these projects should put your heads together to consider what other simulations or tests we could be running. I think it prudent to say that anything could be waiting for us when we arrive at the Forseth’s home and I want us to be as prepared and forewarned as possible.”

Once V’alura finished speaking, Demil stepped forward, his manner slightly easier and less rigid than normal. “Thank you, Ma’am.” He turned to a group of scientists, handing out several PADDs that he had been carrying. “NE Bates, please compile the genetic codes of these species. NE Haynon, input these parameters for the starting conditions of the simulation. NE Carter, please examine the Volograd’s data and create a list of the flora and fauna on the planet.” As he spoke, Demil strode across the lab with the NEs trailing behind him. A spark of excitement and anticipation, mixed with a hint of anxiety, permeated his tone and posture. This is real, not an Academy exercise. I’m actually in charge of a team. I can’t mess this up.

V’alura smiled as Demil took charge of his group and began to hand out assignments and tasks. It was good to see the Ensign find his confidence and passion once again. She won’t let his failures or mistakes define him, nor let him do the same. V’alura would keep an eye on the En but for now there was work to do. She called for several ensigns and NEs and passed around her own set of tasks.

“Lavar and Thominson you two will build our reference library for the AI to learn from. Keyes and Utho’p you two will build the databank that the AI and simulation will dump it’s findings. You will also create the algorithm that will sort the data into usable information. Let’s show the ‘em what the cybernetics team is made of!” V’alura got to work at her station building the AI that will run the simulations and create the variances that hopefully lead to interesting results.

Simple work for her, especially with her most recent completion of the Halie, her most advanced AI yet that was capable of predicting the spread of disease and infection with impressive accuracy. The Starfleet Medical Journal was still puzzling over her latest and last report and undergoing their own testing of the AI. So she pulled from that experience in building this new, not as intense, AI.
