Tel’eck looked a bit at Luna like she had grown a second head, “..Uh yes?” she said.

The other girls blinked, then looked down shyly, “..We’re sorry, we....we were just playing..” they both mumbled.

Thankfully Tel’eck spoke up, “..Uh Miss Luna, we were just playing? I don’t know if you never have seen such, but us kids and teens or anyone really splash and try to dunk people in pools, its like a way to show superiority or something..” she said.

Drudoc had glanced up at the conversation and halting to the young teen’s rough housing, but seeing nothing was really amiss returned her attention to her PADD.

” Oh,” luna said Turning bright red. ” I’m sorry Girls, no iv not been around many children your game looked dangerous. Thank you for explaining. You girls have fun now” Luna said returning to V’alaura. ” I feal silly now. Did you know that was a game kids play” She asked her fact still red with embarrassment.

V’alura smiled comfortingly, “It’ll be alright. You saw something you believed was dangerous but now you know they’re only playing. Mistakes happen and neither they or you are any worse for it.” She said. V’alura had a reputation aboard the ship as a “mother hen” (especially towards her scientists) and it was times like this where she really lived up to that reputation. “Why don’t we give them more space to play?” V’alura gently kicked her legs to carry her and her pool float closer to the edge of the pool, which also brought her closer to where Drudoc sat.

Luna nodded and smiled. ” I agree” She said following V’alura.

“Drudoc!” V’alura called out to the other woman, “Don’t tell me you came to the pool just to work? Come on! Take a five-minute break and chat with us. Sit on the ledge and soak your feet for a bit at the least!”

” Yah captain come have some fun for once” Luna joked.

Drudoc looked up from her PADD to the two officers, “..Well to answer your question Ms Belmont, yes I had planned to come here to work while relaxing and spending time with my daughter and her friends..” she said

Looking to Luna then she added, “..And for your information I do have plenty of fun..” she stated, though Drudoc was clearly a very ‘by the books’ officer, and clearly well defined in shape for working out and the like. Her definition of fun was probably a bit more different then most. Scuttle butt around the ship easily painted the picture that when not on duty, working and/or being near her daughter, her idea of relaxing was working out in the ship’s gym or on the holodeck, and even then some NEs would have noted there were times where she still had a mounted PADD on the exercise machine or used voce dictation to get work done while she ‘relaxed’.

Seeing their looks though, and probably even a half-glare from her daughter who by doing so got dunked from behind by one of the girls, who whooped in victory, Drudoc paused again, then put the PADD down. “..That said, I guess there is time to mingle for a bit. Updating a presentation submission I was working on reflecting proposals to Starfleet R&D to use several improvements we had made in our time on missions to other ships for better performances can wait..” she said.

Swinging her legs off the chair she rose and came over, slipping gracefully into the water and leaning back against the edge. “..So then what did either of you consider to discuss or do for fun?” she said.

“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,” V’alura said with mock seriousness before breaking out into a grin. “Seriously, you gotta relax every now and then. Get away from work for a bit. Trust me, working all the time will only hurt you and your work in the long run.” She added gently, and genuinely. V’alura was just a much a workaholic as the next, but she knew that breaks and rest were good for the brain and overall productivity.

“I have tons that I do for fun. I’ll play the piano or practice with my guitar. I program holodeck adventures. . . which, I’m currently working on this amazing horror adventure. Real gothic horror with some existential horror lurking underneath. It’ll be a blast. I also play puzzle games. Basically a lot.” She finished with a laugh after realizing she was starting to ramble.
