Sadly whatever efforts the XO was trying failed to calm or redirect the blob’s attention off the sweet sweet organic energy and brain signals that Miz’uki was firing off inside her. The only tools in evidence were some laser and plasma scalpels, and of course their own hand phasers.
As Miz’uki would run head first into the wall the only result was giving the blob a squishy slap sound. Miz’uki though would be seeing stars and flop to her butt on the floor stunned. She was left now with a vague feeling that someone or something did not want her to do that again.
The end result of all of this was that the Synthesis chief medical officer during all this had attended to her injured NE Nurse and gotten her out of the way to a bed and come back over with a medical hand scanner. After closing it up she spoke, “..Whatever, this blob thing is doing it seems to have molded its....blob systems…into those of the neural organic pathways of your crew member. It is almost like they have almost become a single life form now. It is showing signs of what I can only assume are feeding on your crew member’s brain signals and bodily outputs that produce energy..” she said.
”..Meaning what?” The Synthesis Captain asked.
Turning she replied, “..Meaning that without further knowledge of this life form on how it functions, or unless it willingly retreats itself from the crew member, they are I would guess bound together now..”
With all this taken in Miz’uki’s daze would be at its end, and she could indeed feel like the blob was somehow shifting, and sifting through whatever brain material made up Miz’uki herself. It was like she was still in control of herself and thoughts, but also in a way observing a third party read a book that described all of her past life, thoughts, feelings, etc and those she had going on now.

“As much as I wouldn’t like to go through that shock again, I can draw its fire until one of you gets behind it to knock it out?” Kyle never normally wanted to play the hero unless absolutely necessary, but the scientist in him also wanted to see what made this thing tick.
-Lieutenant Kyle Anders: Chief of Security-
Given there was not ‘fire’ to draw and the blob did not seem intent on going anywhere else other than to stay on Miz’uki drawing its fire and attempting to knock it out without probably also injuring Miz’uki did not seem an option.
