Posted by Lieutenant Junior Grade Roux Delarosa (Counselor) in CNS Office - Attn. Lt. Emmit Posted by… suppressed (6) by the Post Ghost! 👻 Roux tapped her fingers against the table, considering the patients that she had met with, as of the time being. Finding that she was beginning to learn more about the crew, she discovered excitement. =^=Delarosa to Emmit, could you come down to my office for a psych evaluation?=^= : : : : Delarosa : : CNS : : “Hmm?” He didn’t recognize the voice, but judging from the request for a psych-eval it must be the new Counselor that he had hear arrived. : : =^= Emmitt here, I’ll be there shortly Lieutenant. =^= : : He slapped the outer paneling back on to the wall inside one of the jefferies’ interjunctions. He was just finishing up some maintenance on one of the many EPS conduit relays on the ship. From when he arrived the ship didn’t have a counselor, so this was realistically as good of a time as any to get his psychological evaluation out of the way. “Well, best not to linger.” He hopped back into one of the jefferies tubes and crawled to one of the nearby vertical tubes to head down about 3 levels. Crawling through tubes and taking a few turns he ended up at an external wall panel. Taking a moment to listen, he found silence. Which was good, the counselor wasn’t with anyone at the moment it seemed. He popped the panel from the inside and stepped out of the cramped tube into the Counselors Office. : : “Good afternoon Lieutenant, my apologies on the unorthodox appearance .. it was the quickest route from where I was to the Office!” Making sure he had everything with him before leaving the tube he popped the panel back in place to the wall. : : Lt. (jg) Chris Emmitt (CE) Delarosa did not particularly enjoy the mode which he had used for transportation. She was not a fan of people sneaking up on her, or suddenly arriving without any indication of it. Perhaps that was simply her upbringing, the fact that such notification was a type of decent respect to the person one was going to meet with. Or perhaps her anxiety had a factor in this. Either way, she would have much preferred that the man had used the normal routes, so that he could have pressed the chime to alert her of his imminent arrival. Maybe then, she wouldn’t have been so surprised nor displeased with his sudden arrival. “..Yes, I suppose it does make clear sense.” Her voice was hushed for several seconds, as she determined how she wanted to go about this. Dismissing it from her mind, she waved her hand, to physically denote what she was mentally thinking. “Anyways, do have a seat, Lieutenant.” The precious expression faded from her face, replaced by the natural look of soft amicability. Raising to her feet, she made her way over to the replicator, shifting her attention to the man. “Can I get you anything? Water, tea, coffee?” Delarosa CNS
“Ah.. no, no! I couldn’t trouble you, it’s okay.” He politely declined as he walked a bit further into the room. Somewhat avoiding the subject on the visit he decided to ask randomly, “Speaking of which .. are your replicators okay? Some of them on this deck have been acting a little odd as of late, though it’s a quick fix if it’s needed..?”

Lt. (jg) Chris Emmitt (CE)

“I do believe it has been doing fine, yes.” Delarosa mused, waiting for him to take a seat. She noticed his tactic, in attempt to avoid the meeting and it’s contents. “If it should have any issues, you will be the first person I contact, Lieutenant.” She changed the subject, to make this quicker so he would have to be awkward for too long. “How are you feeling today, Mister Emmitt? Is anything off?”

Delarosa
CNS

“No .. not particularly.” He glanced off to the side a bit to no wall in general. “Just a lot of work to do and a lot of learning. Still getting used to the ship and how she .. breathes, for the lack of a better word.” He stood behind the empty chair in front of him, a little apprehensive, but somewhat calm for the most part. “She’s a pretty big and relatively new ship, I’m pretty surprised at her design and functionality..” It was a rather pathetic attempt to derail the conversation again, he’d always been rather uncomfortable with impromptu conversations when he didn’t have much time to collect his thoughts. With the other conversationalist being a counselor didn’t help too much either. He gently tugged his left sleeve down a bit before looking back in her direction.

Lt. (jg) Chris Emmitt (CE)

“Mister Emmitt,” A soft chuckle escaped her lips, as a light shake came to her head. She found it almost amusing, the way he continuously tried to derail the conversation, as if avoiding the whole topic, to begin with. “I understand if psychological evaluations might be an odd subject, for you. However, this works completely at your own pace. This isn’t a test, I’m not going to ask you to answer anything that you cannot or don’t feel comfortable with. You are in control of this conversation and where it goes. So, just treat this like a normal discussion.” She smiled, trying to ease his nature. “Why did these specs surprise you?”

Delarosa
CNS

He took a few breaths to compose himself before nodding, “You do have a point Lieutenant.” He walked around the chair and sat himself down in it, drumming his fingers on his knees for a second before propping his right ankle up on his left knee, holding his shin. “Well, it’s just new I suppose? It’s like stepping into a new holonovel that just came out. Sure you know a bit about the storyline, or blueprint in this case.. but can quite compare as to actually being there and seeing it, if that makes sense?” A vivid fascination about describing it could easily be seen in his eyes. “I mean the warp core is basically pristine and she’s got two tractor beams! Two!” He seemed to catch himself and raised one hand to cough into it. “I eh .. I got off track.”

Lt. (jg) Chris Emmitt (CE)

“I take it, the ship fascinates you, Lieutenant. Is that right?” An amused smiled played across her amicable features. She did not mind him getting off track, in fact, it helped her with the assessment. This allowed her to note upon him and see further into who he was as a person. Right now, she already picked up upon his devotion to Engineering, simply with the way he spoke, regarding it. This was a good sign of a healthy mind. So far, she didn’t see many issues, beyond the possible prospect of anxiety or ADHD, with the way he was rather hyperactive, in his words and movements. But both of those would take weeks to diagnose. “Tell me, do you have a favourite class of ship? One that.. stands out, above the others?”

Lt. Delarosa
CNS

He nodded quickly. “The ship definitely fascinates me! Well, it’s more like I’m in awe with it? She has so many features! And the power grid is the most efficient I’ve seen since .. well .. ever so far!” It seemed like he could go on forever about it, but her next question stopped him in his tracks. “Hmm, favorite .. ship?” he crossed his arms, but brought one up to his face, resting his chin in the crook between his thumb and index finger. “If it’s Federation ships … I suppose .. I would have to pick the Intrepid. Now that was a ship build with efficiency in mind! It could stay out for months if not years on end without needing to resupply anything! Low power replicators, it’s relays were all in order, not to mention it was the first ship with a tricyclic input manifold! Though .. if I could get my hands on a Romulan Warbird .. Oh hohoho, I’d love to see what’s inside one of those boys. I’ve heard their power source is some sort of mini star or quantum singularity or something like that? Could you imagine the kind of advances we could make having a power source like that in place of our matter/anti-matter reactors?!” He sighed and sat back in the chair, “One could only dream though .. that technology is protected by the treaty..” It almost seemed as if he were pouting for a second when he muttered quietly, “.. even though the treaty only says cloaking technology.”

Lt. (jg) Chris Emmitt (CE)

“If speaking about the USS Intrepid, it was governed by Vulcan officers, one can only assume that they had a hand in its creation. If talking about Intrepid-Class, it is truly a piece of work and a great feat on the engineering fronts.” His excitement in this topic told Roux that she had chosen the proper thing to use to decipher his state of mind. Clasping her hands in her lap, she allowed the pen to lay idle against her inner thigh. Whether or not he realized this, didn’t mean much. If he did, however, it was a sign that she was truly listening to what he was saying. “The Khitomer Accord makes it difficult for us to mimic technology, even if we found it on our own, for Klingons. And peace treaties with the Romulans, also make it incredibly hard to ever get out hands on better technology. However, i I is all in good reason, yes?”

Lt. Delarosa
CNS

“Ah, the Intrepid-class of ships, sorry I should have clarified.” He scratched the side of his head, he let his excitement get the better of him again. He adjusted himself in the seat and followed what the Counselor was saying. “I can agree with the Khitomer Accords mostly because not much is known about subspace weaponry due to it’s instability. Who knows how it could effect something warping through it or even if it creates a subspace tear.. though I was thinking more along the lines of the Treaty of Algeron. It specifically only references cloaking technology so that Romulans and Klingons will always have the edge on that .. though most of the time everyone kind of treats it as all technology belonging to the other.” Though he tried to hide it, it was fairly apparent that he was unsatisfied by it. Almost as if you took a child to a candy store and told them they can’t have chocolate. Though there are plenty of other candy to choose from, his attention seemed to gravitate to things that are unknown to him.
