Using hand lights the crews checking the panel would find it had nothing currently there. There was a thing film of goo indicating the blobs had been here, but had not gotten further then slipping into the cooling grate and not into the core hardware itself.

“I guess we know how they move about.” The XO mused. She walked over to the panel displaying the schematics. “So, it’s been here, it’s been on deck B. Where else might it have been and where else might it go?” She kept saying ‘it’ though she wasn’t totally convinced that it was singular.

Cuing up the deck layout of the Synthesis on the screen the ship’s CO spoke, “..From the transporter room, there are three major points from that vent the blob could have gone. One option is that it has gone up a deck to A deck, which lead to the main bridge and my ready room, another option is it has gone down to C deck where it leads to Shuttle Bay 1 Storage, my Quarters, or the XO’s Quarters, a third option is it has remained on B deck and gone down the hall towards the ship’s sickbay again..” he said.

“It doesn’t seem to love people. The shuttle bay storage might offer a good place to hide.” Masi speculated, based on little more than instinct.

Kyle added to the thought, “I think splitting up and searching each area in small groups might be our best option Commander.”

Kriv nodded, looking at the screen. “Might be our best bet. If we can figure out where it went, we might be able to use maintenance access tunnels to cut it off further down.”

OOC: So just a small reminder to everyone https://www.star-fleet.com/library/bookshelf/tm/unity.html the Synthesis is a post romulan-earth war variant of the Daedulus class which arguably did not have jeffries tubes/maintence tunnels as we know them in later trek. Going off the NX class as the designer for this as we saw they did not have such. The vents the blob are in are little more than a few inches square.

The Synthesis Captain nodded then to their suggestions, “..Splitting up in pairs may be the best suggestion, let’s get to it then. I’ll call in some more of the MACOs..” he said moving over to the comm panel to do so.

After a moment of communicating he nodded turning back, “..Ok I got two going back to the transporter room, another two up to the bridge and A deck, another the last two down to C deck. I say the rest of us then split up and go to those areas, agreed?” he proposed “..I want whatever these damn things are off my ship!”

Masi nodded. “I wholly agree Captain. Lieutenant Anders, take Ensign Kriv to the Bridge, Ensign Klein head to the transporter room. I’ll take the Cargo bay.” She left the distribution of the Synthesis crew to its own Captain.
