A few moments later the line opened again. =^=Belmont to Lis. Sorry for the delay in response. We’ve just captured one of the organic signatures detected aboard the Synthesis. Some strange green blob organism. We’re now preparing to transport it, either to the Syntehsis’ science labs or to ours. I’ll figure that out in a bit. What have you found on the AA?=^=

Gavin’s eyes beamed after hearing they captured a blob. “Oh, oh… tell her to beam it here!” Doctor Stacey exclaimed in a loud whisper. The Ensign began fantasizing about the amount of data he would be able to collect of the thing. There was no telling what kind of things could be created from the findings; the natural clocking mechanism, the ability to change form, time phases.

The team could confirm that now that they had a sample from Stacey and the blob’s ability to phase seemed worn out or lost due to the forcefields it was trapped in beaming it to this lap would be easy to do.

“Looks like it may be tired,” Doctor Stacey said after a few moments of watching the blob. “From my experience, this thing would be able phase through physical barriers.” Gavin also thought the forcefield could be a factor, though by how much was anyone’s guess. Walking over to the nearby terminal, the doctor began to use the lab’s scanners to get a better reading of the lifeform. Now that they knew it was alive there main concern would be how to get out of the being.

With a hum of a transporter, the blob contained in late 22nd century mobile forcefield emitters inside one of the biology labs larger containment units came into being nearby. Looking at it, the little green blob did indeed seem ‘tired’ for lack of a better term. Its movements seemed sluggish somewhat as it tried to examine its new prison. Scan results did match the samples that Stacey had found on the Angel’s deck elsewhere.

A moment of shimmer, the slight feeling of nausea that always seemed to accompany being transported, and Katie was in the Biology Lab. There were a number of officers working over the blob thing and after a moment, Katie realized that she had never been in this part of the ship before. While trying to stay out of the way, she positioned herself to where she could see the thing.

“These forcefield emitters are from the other ship and, without being too tacky about it, may not be up to our standards,” she said. “They may be doing the job now but if our… guest recovers a bit, they may not hold. I would recommend a different containment system as soon as we can.”
