On V’alura’s command, Katie pressed the button on the side of the forcefield emitter next to her. The emitter made a crackling sound just as the green bit of flying mucus… it was the term that came to mind… struck the first of the three sides of the “bank” shot. Katie reached out and touched the forcefield. There was no way of judging the strength of the invisible wall that now divided the small compartment in half. If it could hold, the… thing… would be trapped on the opposite side.

Katie glanced at the others, noted that no one had been caught by the forcefield. No one was injured.

As the forcefield emitters got activated they struck gold! The emitters did their job and trapped the poor green blob in its grasp!

The thing seemed to pitifully try to bounce from edge to edge, ceiling to floor but due to the area of the floor and ceiling they had trapped it in thankfully did not have any vents or such the thing could not sneak out. After another 5 vigorous minutes of the thing trying to squirm, bounce or even phase through the areas in its containment it finally seemed to ‘give up and flop to the floor in the middle of its new ‘prison’. The impression the group might have was of some kind of thoroughly exhausted animal now trapped in a cage.

The Synthesis NE who’s quarters they were in then looked down at it, “..Finally! So uh....now what?” he proposed.

One of the MACO NE’s with a phase rifle grunted, “..I say you lower an edge there and I’ll shot it, easy as shooting a fish in a barrel now..” he said. His companion next to him just nodded agreement.

“Absolutely not!” V’alura stated in a tune of iron. There would be no shooting this blob, not on her watch. “Unless you think there’s anything you can contribute towards our study or containment of this creature then perhaps you will be better suited guarding the door and give the rest of us some breathing room.” Honestly, to even consider shooting a helpless creature! No matter how green or slimy or blob-y it was. To the NE who lived in this room she added, “We’ll be out of your hair soon enough, would you consider stepping out as well? The more room we have to work with the sooner you’ll have your room again.”

”..Bah whatever..” the two MACOs echoed, shuffling a bit to squeeze back out of the cramped confines and into the hallway. “..Call us when you want the disgusting thing dealt with properly..” one added as the door shut.

The non-com owner of the run shrugged without comment, making for the door, and then paused glancing back, “..Just don’t go rummaging amongst my stamp collection!” he said before also leaving.

V’alura took a moment to take a breath and center her thoughts before tapping her commbadge, =^=Belmont to Lis. Sorry for the delay in response. We’ve just captured one of the organic signatures detected aboard the Synthesis. Some strange green blob organism. We’re now preparing to transport it, either to the Synthesis’ science labs or to ours. I’ll figure that out in a bit. What have you found on the AA?=^=

Now that they knew how to scan and contain these things, transporting one captured would be easy enough back to the Ark Angel, and probably for the best given they had better equipment there compared to the Synthesis. Though updating both this ship’s CO and the Angel’s XO on things happening probably would be equally wise. After all there was still one blob out there somewhere as V’alura knew.
