USS Ark Angel
Main Sim - Away Team - Valura's Run!
[snip]
The already quite small non-commissioned officer’s quarters were now even more tightly packed. Between the four emitters on a cart, Valura, Kath, Miz’uki, the two MACO NEs and the non-com who owned the quarters, PLUS them all trying to avoid getting hit by said blob to say they were packed in like sardines was probably a compliment to sardine cans everywhere. “..You know I don’t mean to hurry you strangers along but could we somehow contain this thing?! Before it somehow slimes my 150 year old baseball card collection?!” the NE said with annoyance ducking under another pass by the blob to avoid it hitting his head, only to bump into one of the MACO NEs.

Katie noted the pattern of the … whatever it was… as it bounced around the room. The blob showed no sign of being able to pass through anything solid like to bulkhead. It hit the far bulkhead several times, each time leaving a small green spot that almost immediately vanished. Perhaps that was what she had detected with her tricorder back in Engineering. She picked up one of the emitters from the cart and handed it to the compartment’s owner.
“Although this thing is fast, it can’t be in two places at once. Take this and place it against the wall over there,” she said. Katie took a second emitter and placed it against the opposite wall. After she checked that the line of sight between the two was clear she spoke again. “Everybody. Stay clear of the line between these two emitters. In a moment, I’m going to turn this one on and one of two things will happen. Most probably, we’ll trap the thing in half the room. If it happens to be right between the emitters at that time, which seems improbable, it will be cut in half.”

“Careful on the setting ensign we don’t want to fry the poor thing” She purred standing next to Hobbes but was still proud of her JO and how she was handling the situation

V’alura watched the the green blob bounce around the room her mind abuzz with mathematical equations. The size of the room. . . distance between surfaces. . . speed of the blob. . . rate of phasing. . . the average reaction speed. . . various angles of approach. . . “I got it! En, wait for my signal then fire your emitters. She watched the blob bounce around, waiting until she saw it bound off one of three surfaces around the room. When the blog hit those spots at the right angle it would have a longer “travel” time. Thus, giving them a longer window to activate the emitters and trap it. “Ready. . . on go. . . . . . Go!”

On V’alura’s command, Katie pressed the button on the side of the forcefield emitter next to her. The emitter made a crackling sound just as the green bit of flying mucus… it was the term that came to mind… struck the first of the three sides of the “bank” shot. Katie reached out and touched the forcefield. There was no way of judging the strength of the invisible wall that now divided the small compartment in half. If it could hold, the… thing… would be trapped on the opposite side.
Katie glanced at the others, noted that no one had been caught by the forcefield. No one was injured.

OOC: Without intending it I kinda picture this scene in my head as the first ghostbuster movie scene where they trap slimer LOL makes me smile and laugh
As the forcefield emitters got activated they struck gold! The emitters did their job and trapped the poor green blob in its grasp!
The thing seemed to pitifully try to bounce from edge to edge, ceiling to floor but due to the area of the floor and ceiling they had trapped it in thankfully did not have any vents or such the thing could not sneak out. After another 5 vigorous minutes of the thing trying to squirm, bounce or even phase through the areas in its containment it finally seemed to ‘give up and flop to the floor in the middle of its new ‘prison’. The impression the group might have was of some kind of thoroughly exhausted animal now trapped in a cage.
The Synthesis NE who’s quarters they were in then looked down at it, “..Finally! So uh....now what?” he proposed.
One of the MACO NE’s with a phase rifle grunted, “..I say you lower an edge there and I’ll shot it, easy as shooting a fish in a barrel now..” he said. His companion next to him just nodded agreement.
