[snip]“I have four pairs of portable force-field projectors here that may be of some help,” she said. That was when she actually caught her first glance of a green blob. “If we can set some of them up at appropriate locations, we may be able to prevent whatever that is from getting out of the area.”

V’alura kept her gaze on the moving green blob, and oh boy she glad to hear Katie’s voice. “Katie! Perfect timing. Instruct these MACOs how to use those projectors then hand me one.” She gently tossed aside the drawer she was holding and began her mental calculations in how to best entrap their little blob of living jell-o. They need one person at the door to prevent escape that way. Another to the left by the air vent. Another possible escape vector. Then the remaining two could circle around the other side and their trap would be complete.

“One or two minor details to keep in mind. They have a three meter effective range. And I believe the forcefield is projected from one to another,” Katie said as she looked around the compartment. She pointed to the Synthesis engineer and then to the wall where the air vent was located. The engineer took two of the projector stands and began to set them up to block that exit. “If we put another pair behind us, we may be able to block off the door and the other half of the compartment. These are Synthesis projectors came from their storage and I can’t say how strong they are. We may want to double up on them. Or, perhaps, we could gradually push the fields in on bouncy green … friend. Sort of steadily reducing the size of the box we have it in.”

While everyone was discussing on how to setup the emitters the green blob contained its speedy bouncing around the room. At one point it tried to make a dash for the door when it opened to allow the two new ark angel engineers to enter but it seems the blob’s angle of approach was off and instead it bounced off one of the MACOs armor plates back into the room.
The already quite small non-commissioned officer’s quarters were now even more tightly packed. Between the four emitters on a cart, Valura, Kath, Miz’uki, the two MACO NEs and the non-com who owned the quarters, PLUS them all trying to avoid getting hit by said blob to say they were packed in like sardines was probably a compliment to sardine cans everywhere. “..You know I don’t mean to hurry you strangers along but could we somehow contain this thing?! Before it somehow slimes my 150 year old baseball card collection?!” the NE said with annoyance ducking under another pass by the blob to avoid it hitting his head, only to bump into one of the MACO NEs.

OOC: Smaller than I imagined.
OOC: LOL well remember this is a ship that was built during the Earth-Romulan war and then refit post war as a variant of the Daedalus class cruiser. So its quite cramped go look at pictures of the NX Enterprise quarters for the jo’s now shrink it a little more since these are for a non-com :D So now you got that tiny space filled with two beefy MACOS with phase rifles and body armor, then the non-com owner, plus Valura and now Miz’uki and Kate, plus a grav cart that is carrying four blukyish forcefield emitters and their stands, factor in the space taken up by the bed, drawers and the tiny wash area well do the math lol
Katie noted the pattern of the … whatever it was… as it bounced around the room. The blob showed no sign of being able to pass through anything solid like to bulkhead. It hit the far bulkhead several times, each time leaving a small green spot that almost immediately vanished. Perhaps that was what she had detected with her tricorder back in Engineering. She picked up one of the emitters from the cart and handed it to the compartment’s owner.
“Although this thing is fast, it can’t be in two places at once. Take this and place it against the wall over there,” she said. Katie took a second emitter and placed it against the opposite wall. After she checked that the line of sight between the two was clear she spoke again. “Everybody. Stay clear of the line between these two emitters. In a moment, I’m going to turn this one on and one of two things will happen. Most probably, we’ll trap the thing in half the room. If it happens to be right between the emitters at that time, which seems improbable, it will be cut in half.”

“Carefull on the setting ensign we dont want to fry the poor thing” She purred standing next to Hobbes but was still proud of her JO and how she was handling the situation

V’alura watched the the green blob bounce around the room her mind abuzz with mathematical equations. The size of the room. . . distance between surfaces. . . speed of the blob. . . rate of phasing. . . the average reaction speed. . . various angles of approach. . . “I got it! En, wait for my signal then fire your emitters. She watched the blob bounce around, waiting until she saw it bound off one of three surfaces around the room. When the blog hit those spots at the right angle it would have a longer “travel” time. Thus, giving them a longer window to activate the emitters and trap it. “Ready. . . on go. . . . . . Go!”
