Najjar nodded to the doctor in reply. She really hadn’t done anything, but it was nice to be included anyway. Once he stepped through the doors, she looked at the science officers. “Is there a way for us to get a sample of the organic substance if it disappears almost instantly? And how can we find another sample of it?”

The NE from before turned to the counselor. “..Without picking up another sighting of this anomaly its impossible to get more readings. Maybe if we set a constant scan pattern for it we could pick something up?” he offered.

“That could work,” Demil mused, coming out of the thoughtful trance he was in. “There’s still the matter of getting a sample to study, though.”

”..True the NE commented from before to Lis, but until we can get a better reading or direct sample, I do not think there is much more we can do here..” he said.

“Demil, I have a sample!” Gavin called out as he waltzed into the temporal lab with his medkit. Doctor Stacey stopped at the nearby work station to upload the scans that he and Ashley took to the ship’s computer, then placed the med kit onto the desk’s ledge. “It’s fascinating, this thing is…, organic yet invisible, and it may even be some sort of cloaking device!” Gavin said, from what he gathered from Ensign Logan’s scans. The doctor paused for a moment and looked around. “Your Chief still on the Synth?” Gavin asked, “Then it looks like you, me, and Ashley.., when she arrives will need to solve this one.”

“Interesting,” Demil said, rolling his chair over to the workstation. “Computer, analyze any available genetic information.” While it was compiling, he looked over to the doctor and said “Genetics was one of my major areas of study at the academy,” by way of explanation.

“Biology was my major, with a touch of xenobiology.” Doctor Stacey replied, hoping Ashley would show up sooner rather than later. “Whatever this is uses some sort of cloaking mechanism.” Gavin stated. “Though whether it’s some sort of technology or natural trait would depend on further scans.” Ensign Stacey wasn’t sure where to start with a hypothesis, but given the organic scans earlier along with the gel like substance, he was aiming at it being a living creature.
