“I agree,” Katie said nodding. “We need two of them to create a wall so four should seal off a corridor. If there are two of these things, we may have to seal off two corridors separately.”

They removed all eight of the units and their stands from the crates and placed all but one on the anti-grav cart. Katie took one of them and, together with Miz’uki examined the device.

“It looks like it has self contained power system and can be both remotely operated… probably from a PADD or the ship’s computer,” Katie said. “Now we need to figure out where to set them up.”

The Vulcan engineer chimed in as they moved the cart out of the cargo bay, “..You should be aware that each pair of emitters needs to be within 10ft of each other and have a line of sight to properly function. Control is handled by the control pad on the side of each emitter, there is no remote functions..” he said.

OOC: Ok so I need to jump in here, neither of the blobs are currently moving in your direction as I posted. The first one is in crew quarters, the other is somewhere in the ship’s ventilation systems. I would perhaps suggest you nix the above two bits of the post and consider how you might track the second or trap the other (maybe going to that location etc). I don’t normally try to railroad or stifle creativity, but at least for the purpose of the blobs and what your efforts do i do need to have control of that in this instance. Any questions please let me know, I wanna work this out together :)

“Control panel function only,” Katie said. She frowned and bit her lower lip, silently cursing herself. This was a ship from the past and she had to be careful not to let them anything about the future. “Three meter height limitation and line of sight. Other than the storage compartments and shuttle bays, that shouldn’t be an unworkable limit. Do we know where any of these entities are or where they’re heading?”

Crewman LeDoux nodded. “I heard there is one in the Crew’s quarters on Deck E.”

“All right. So we start there,” Katie said. She turned and looked. “The nearest turbolift is…?”

“This way,” LeDoux said.

Katie nodded and followed LeDoux to the turbolift. Moments later, they arrived on Deck E and Katie was pleased to see that the ceilings were within the 3 meters limit.

“Now what I’m thinking is that we use the force-field emitters to slow one of these things down enough that we can get a decent sensor read on it and maybe actually transport it off the ship,” Katie said.

Miz’uki followed along she was proud that Hobbes was taking charge and liked what she was seeing Hobbes would make a great Chief Engineer someday “Lets get these set up ad figure out what has gotten into this poor ship!” she laughed
