“I was doing some scans on the Synthesis’s crew, well the ones that actually had uncorrupted data, and I found something extremely unusual,” Gavin stated, pointing to the scans on the monitor. “You’ll see that the crew is in normal health....” He said as he waved off that portion of his findings, “But then you’ll see that some organic anomaly has infiltrated the Synthesis’s computer core, here!” Gavin added. The young doctor took a step back as the zoomed-in portion of the computer core appeared on the screen so the science folks can take a look.

“Now that’s something I could shove in my dad’s face,” Gavin said, whispering to the Counselor; a subtle clue as to his view on his father.

Sure enough, there was something organic in the computer core. “Well, that doesn’t belong there.” Even she could see that. “Is there a way for us to get a sample of it?” Running scans would be the quickest way to get information. If they were left to guess what the material was, they could hypothesize for days and still not land on the right answer.

Ella would end up looking at the data, “..Given how brief it was, sensors won’t tell us much more. It would probably be more likely to get a sample by having someone on the Synthesis away team go their directly to look for anything for us..” She said. “..That said, looking at what we did pick up, brief as it was, seems like it is organic as we can surmise, but the oddity is it seems like it’s directly making up the Synthesis’s computer core. That shouldn’t be possible on a ship of this age and design. So it has to be something from the Warrens itself somehow. We may want to alert the captain and security of this finding. Have them check our own systems for any anomalies like this ship wide. It might reveal something who knows?” She suggested.

As the team was back and forth discussing things, NE Helpful spoke up by another console, “..Um, sirs? Maybe we should also alert the bridge of this? Maybe even the security department? Just to make sure no issues are cropping up on the Angel too?” he suggested.

Gavin nodded in return. The NE was correct, they did need to inform the Bridge of their findings. Doctor Stacey walked the short distance over to the computer terminal and unplugged his PaDD from the docking port. “Counselor, I’ll head to the Bridge and explain the situation up there.” The Medical Officer stated, placing the PaDD into his back pocket. “I didn’t think of the possibility that this anomaly could spread to the AA’s systems as well.”

There wasn’t much that Doctor Stacey could do in the meantime; the anomaly had been noticed and both Chiefs Engineer and Science Officer have been notified. Before exiting the lab, Stacey turned. “Thanks for the assistance, Counselor!” Gavin then turned and disappeared into the corridor.

Najjar nodded to the doctor in reply. She really hadn’t done anything, but it was nice to be included anyway. Once he stepped through the doors, she looked at the science officers. “Is there a way for us to get a sample of the organic substance if it disappears almost instantly? And how can we find another sample of it?”

The NE from before turned to the counselor. “..Without picking up another sighting of this anomaly its impossible to get more readings. Maybe if we set a constant scan pattern for it we could pick something up?” he offered.
