The first emotional response from the CMO on the ship got an eye roll in reply to her Captain. “..Fine, still seems like a waste of time to me. If we are going to send some distress call we have not sent yet, what’s the point in putting off the inevitable? Well come on then Ensign Suder, access port for the logs and crew records are over here..” She said. Directing Suder over to a nearby work desk and chair.

V’alura shot Jordy a quick thumbs up. He’ll be fine, she was sure, but a little encouragement was never a bad thing. It seemed like he’ll have his hands full working with the blunt CMO. Then, V’alura addressed the Captain once again, “So, how has your crew taken to the news of our strange and sudden arrival? I imagine it’d make a few people tense, what with the whole distress call that’s yet to happen.” She spoke with a light, casual tone, like a friend does when chatting over coffee. Like her momma always said, honey attracted more flies than vinegar. Just as friendly words and a relaxed posture had a way of making people open up.

”..I am sure you know how news can travel faster than warp speed on a ship, especially one like mine. I made the announcement to the crew of the basic details of your arrival and the oddities of it, but not more than that. We’re all professionals though and I got a good crew, despite any emotional feelings they may feel as the news spread they’ll act with the utmost professionalism I expect..” He replied.

The Synthesis’s captain once more lead the remaining Ark Angel team back out into the hall and back to the turbolift. Along the way the group was stopped by a passing Synthesis NE who handed a small PADD for the CO to review. While the CO did so the NE in question gave quizzical looks to the Ark Angel team, clearly highlighting V’alura’s earlier question about this ship’s crew being on alert and nervous as the news of their arrival and circumstances that had brought them here had spread.

After a moment’s pause, the Captain signed off on the PADD and handed it back. “..See that Lt Coal has those results of our shield and weapons test by 1800 hours this afternoon. Anything else Ensign?” He inquired.

Taking the PADD back the NE nodded, then glanced again to the Ark Angel team, “..Uh well word is flying around about your announcement earlier Captain, as well as the arrival of our ‘guests’ here..” he said indicating the remaining team. “..Is uh there anything else we all should know? Or anything they can tell us about why they’re here?” he inquired.

The Captain looked to the XO again, “..Well that depends on them, I’ve revealed what I know already on why they’re here, so if they have something else to tell us they could if it would help set your mind at ease?” he inquired indirectly to the XO.

Masi weighed and considered. What to say, in case they can get back to when they come from. But if they can’t, or if they were missed, it may be better to have a good explanation. “Captain, I’m sure you can understand not wanting to cause too much alarm before you need to. But you may be due some information. You’re currently where the Synthesis should be, but not when. It’s been a long time since anyone’s heard from you, the ship was presumed lost. Now here you are, and we’ve caught a distress signal you haven’t sent yet. You can see why that’s cause for concern.”
