USS Ark Angel
Main Sim - Away Team - Boarding the SS Synthesis
[snip]
The Armadillo shuttle’s rear hatch closed and after a moment of humming the engine’s fully powered up and the shuttle departed the Ark Angel’s shuttle bay 1 at the top of the saucer. Angling the shuttle about NE Harris the shuttle’s pilot helmed things expertly. The shuttle passed through thin and thick clouds of nebula gases on its short trip to the SS Synthesis but no problems came about on their approach.
Equally if anyone on board decided to do so scans on their trip just confirmed everything they had so far found out about the mystery before them. The SS Synthesis was barely older then a year at most from its original construction in 2162, the weathering on the ship and sensors for the dating on the ship confirmed this. Equally there did not appear to be any known temporal anomaly effects at work either on the ship, or on the Warrens around them. Nor did their appear to be any signs of distress from the Synthesis’s crew that would have caused them to send out a distress call that they had not even sent yet it seems that had drawn the Ark Angel on this mission here that would cause a loss of control of the ship and their systems.
All this took about 5 minutes in transit time, with the end result of the rear of the Synthesis shuttle bay doors opening at the back of the secondary hull. With a dull thud the Armadillo shuttle touched down about 20 feet from two nearby Type-1a Shuttlepods of the mid-22nd century in their launch cradles. Both looked almost untouched and brand new. “..Touchdown complete, we’ll need to wait till they pressurize the bay though till we can depart. Since they didn’t invent the controlled forcefield atmosphere controls yet on these old ships.” Harris reported.
Two minutes of waiting later and finally NE Harris reported, “..Pressurization complete, stable atmosphere out there.” as if to confirm this the nearby corridor door hatch swung open and in came three humans in 2160s era (Basically still Enterprise era uniforms but with the added change of having the UFP symbol on the shoulder sides instead of the ship’s emblem) jumpsuits. Only one of them carried a sidearm, a simple Phase pistol, still holstered though as they approached.
The first to approach was the pistol carrying human, a full lieutenant in rank and going off the department band colorings on the jumpsuit was probably in the ship’s armory/security department. The man was about 5‘11, well muscled, with short crop blonde hair, and a no nonsense attitude typical of officers in such a department and who took their job and the ship’s safety very seriously. His eyes of course roamed over the shuttle’s outlines and was peering in through the side windows obviously counting those present and looking for any threats. Just to his right was a woman about 5‘8 in height, slightly longer shoulder length hair, deep brown-red in color, and going by their department colors was probably in the ship’s science or medical department. She had an aura and look of curiosity on her features as she stood back from the shuttle by about 15 feet or so. Just next to her was a Captain rank human, obviously the ship’s CO Captain Thomas Dambrine. The man stood at about 5‘10, a mostly friendly demeanor to his features. Like the armory/security officer his eyes too though roamed curiously over the lines of the shuttle.
”..I’ll remain here to keep an eye on things, make sure no one goes poking where they shouldnt..” NE Harris said turning in his pilot seat.
As their own shuttle’s rear hatch lowered, the armor/security officer came around shortly followed by the medical/science officer and then the Synthesis Captain, they all stood patiently back about 10 feet to let the shuttle’s crew depart. Captain Dambrine was the first to step forward offering a hand to whoever shook it first. “..I am Captain Thomas Dambrine, welcome aboard the Synthesis.” he said, then gestured to the armory/security lieutenant, “..This is my chief armory officer, Lieutenant Charles Dagill.” He said, said officer giving a simple nod in reply, gesturing then to the nearby woman, “..This is one of our science chiefs, Lieutenant Sully Quinn.” he said.
Masi smiled kindly and introduced her own crew. “I’m Lieutenant Commander Masi Dirida. This is Lieutenant Miz’Uki, Lieutenant Kyle Anders, Lieutenant V’alura Belmont, Ensign Ashley Logan, and Ensign Drawde Enik.”
Quinn gave a more friendly smile, “..Pleased to meet you all! Though it is under strange circumstances!” she said in a cheery fashion.
“Personally, I’ll take strange circumstances over dire or threatening circumstances,” V’alura said with a return smile of her own, “Less panic, anxiety and screaming.” She kept her tone light and joking. Sometimes the best way to cope with strange or unknown situations was through good humor. Her momma always said that if you can laugh then things aren’t so bad as they may seem.
It was then it seems the three seemed to notice more of the obvious details in uniforms, carried equipment, and even race on the away team. Captain Tambrine was though the first to comment on things, “..It would seem whatever, is afoot will probably take some time to get to the bottom of. Something tells me if I dig too deep in asking why your uh shuttlepod there..” he said gesturing to the shuttle, “..and your own officers..” he said gesturing to Maz’uki “..are so advanced or unknown to us, much less why they all look so different I’ll only wind up with a headache so for now I’ll keep quiet about it.” he said turning to his own officers, “..see that everyone is told the same unless it becomes important ok?” he said.
Getting nods, Tambrine turned back to the waiting away team, “..Well your uh Captain Andone said something about getting a up close read on my ship. Given we would be the ones in danger if it came from what she said I’ll ask how you want to start, Lieutenant Commander..” he said addressing the XO.

“Well Captain, I suppose I should begin by asking about the current status of the Synthesis, and if anything out of the ordinary has been going on. Outside our arrival, I suppose.” Masi said, trying not to say too much too soon.

”..Well right now all systems were last reported to be in the green before your arrival. As I mentioned to your Captain we were testing the effects the Warrens had on our shields when you arrived. Turns out one of the effects after we got off the comms with your Captain we found with our shields raised it caused an unexpected computer access request to the comm array. Hence why we did not reply to your original hails. Right away.” Thomas explained as they left the launch bay and entered a corridor. “..Beyond that no other problems had been reported.”
Rounding a corridor on F deck the team approached a turbolift. After a second or so of waiting the lift door’s opened and everyone filed in. It was of course quite cramped given how many people were present. “..I figure the best spot we could begin unless you all have a better preference is the engine room?” he asked as he keyed in the request to the lift’s panel the lift doors closed and began to move down.

V’alura settled herself tight against the walls of the lift, her hands clasped together behind her back to prevent accidental touches. To Captain Dambrine she inquired, “What do you mean by unexpected computer access request? Do you mean that while your shields were up you were unable to receive any communications or that you could not send any out?”

Miz’uki kept quiet for now Not sure what to say especially given the sensitive nature of not giving away too much info though this captain and crew were not stupid they would figure out eventually that one of the two ships was displaced in time and it was not the Ark Angel her tail swished in an anxious way though she tried to keep it a bit more subtle and of course any time she was in an unfamiliar area even if it was another federation ship she kept her senses on high alert
