USS Ark Angel

Side Sim- Deck 12: Sickbay

Gavin could still hear his father’s voice in his head as he continued down the corridor towards his assigned Sickbay. “Security is where all the action is, son.” The voice told him, “You’ll never get a command as a doctor…” Ensign Stacey shrugged off the inner monologue just as he shrugged off his father’s pleading for him to join Starfleet as a security or tactical officer. Gavin in no way disagreed with his dad that he would have seen action if he joined Security, but being part of the medical staff would enable him to assist in picking up the pieces once the shooting stopped. The freshly minted doctor took a glance at the mug of coffee he held and sighed. “Drinks to you, dad,” he whispered, placing the mug to his lips, then quickly gulping down the last of its contents.

Ensign Stacey straightened out the last wrinkle in his uniform as he made approached the double doors to the Sickbay. Gavin knew what to expect before entering, as he studied up on the Mythology Class medical areas and equipment. Everything was state of the art, and that much was true when he finally walked through the doors. Nearly identical to the one on the starboard side of the ship, Ens. Stacey could identify the number of bio beds and surgery wards in this section, and maybe even the number of hyposprays that were on hand each shift.

Exchanging his coffee mug for a medical tricorder, Gavin checked his PaDD for the list of assigned physicals for the day. “Looks like an easy day,” He murmured to himself, “Lets see what trouble I can get into.”
