Ensign Sek’hath exited the turbolift to the bridge of the USS Ark Angel, his face completely dispassionate as per the norm for a Vulcan. It was his first time reporting for duty as the bridge’s conn officer - he had served for several months in Engineering as a warp field specialist, but had been spending his off-hours in the holodeck practicing Academy-recommended navigational trainings. After what felt like months of asking for permission from the chief engineer, he finally got them to relent and allow him a shift rotation on the bridge.

He straightened an imaginary wrinkle on the front of his gold uniform, and walked over to the conn station, where he relieved the navigator on duty.

“Ensign Sek’hath, reporting in for duty,” he called out to the officer in command. His voice would never betray his nerves in the slightest, but he did find himself hoping that his performance in his first bridge duty shift would be adequate.

Masi rose from her seat and strode over to Sek’hath. “Welcome aboard Ensign. I am Lieutenant Commander Masi Dirida, First Officer of the Ark Angel. I believe you’re the new helm officer, correct?”
