IC: At last… Some blessed time off. The Holodeck, while lovely didn’t have the acoustics required for what Lieutenant Pucci wanted to do. Running calloused fingers over the smooth stone of the case, he opened it up and extracted his guilty secret. The Chief of Security was a violinist and a very good one at that. “Computer, access my personal files. Backing Track Number 3 and accompanying Sheet Music for Violin.” He was a little embarrassed, the man had a bit of a phobia about other people listening to his playing. Looking around again just to make sure nobody was within earshot, he tucked the instrument into the crook of his neck, ran his fingers over the strings and began to play along to Mozart’s Lacrimosa, losing himself in the music and unaware that due to resonance, everyone else on the Deck could hear the music and the violin playing.

On the corridor outside the holodeck Zarus was captured by the emotional music they were hearing. The compound time signature of the piece gave a sense of forward motion through the slow tempo, but the minor key and lack of harmonical resolution gave a sense of haunting unease.

Zarus was aware that the performer was in the holodeck and as such assumed they wanted privacy so they stood on the corridor out of sight absorbed in the work.
