A new voice came over the comms, Lieutenant Pucci. =^= We could use the EPS itself to knock it out. Send a power surge through the EPS, it’ll receive a shock at which point we can capture it. It may be attracted to the energy, turning it off might just make it run away. =^=

Rhansi mentally shrugged. =^= Let us know if you need further assistance. We will keep this channel open. =^= He muted his end of the comm from his chair terminal so they could continue to hear the crew on the other end but they would not be interrupted by any bridge chatter.

About this point Drudoc came striding back onto the bridge, “..Commander, anything to report?” She asked her XO.

“Sounds like our little ‘intruder’ issue has been taken care of,” he told the captain. He unmuted the comm channel.

=^= Good job, ensigns. Please let us know if you need further assistance. Bridge out. =^=

He ended the comm, then looked at a readout on his chair terminal. “The engineering team is on the holodeck currently, while other crews are starting construction of the slipstream drive.” He straightened, tugging slightly on the sleeve of his uniform top; the pointed cuffs would irritate kept in one place too long. “I can liaise with them for more details.”

Rhansi’s background was in engineering, something he had been missing since his promotion. He knew better than to try to insert his own opinion over their engineer’s now that he was a command officer - that was a quick way to losing a crew’s trust - but he would be able to get an understanding of what they were thinking and planning and translate that, and maybe help brainstorm a little.

As if sensing her XO’s feelings, Drudoc commented taking her seat. “..I get the sense you and I are both itching to go work on the Slipstream drive but I trust Lt Miz’uki knows whats she is doing..” Drudoc said.

Rhansi chuckled, a slightly odd sound attenuated by the breathers. “Of course. She’s tenacious, that one.” He leaned back, steepling his hands.

“So what now,” he pondered out loud. “Do we wait for the engine repairs?” He turned his head to look at the captain. “Conduct exchanges with the ships here? Go see what else may be out there?” He gestured at the viewscreen.
