There did seem a flurry of comm traffic that Trainor could pick up, central comm relays seemed to come from the second planet which had the trading hub station present. Using their new translations there did seem some interest in their arrival. Though no outward sign of weapons or such were shown being armed.

Rainns arrived at his bridge post, and maintained the yellow alert. He was suspicious of the situation, and was ready to go to red alert at the drop of the hat.

Just as the turbolift at the rear of the bridge closed for Rainn’s arrival at the front of the bridge another opened having Drudoc arrive. “..Report, what do we got on scans?” She asked, eventually taking the center chair once the XO had departed it.

From her station, “There are life-signs and vessels with warp technology. The inner part of the system is awash with ships of many types showing a sort of trade hub station near the second planet. Technology scans are varied from ships warp capable but only barely to ones more on par with our own systems.”

Nivor approached the science station and watched the readings as they came in, arms folded. “They’re definitely aware we’re here,” he said after a moment, approaching the center chair again. “Should we announce ourselves?”

“Doesn’t appear that their ships are armed at the moment,” Tenzing announced as he went through the scans and comms. “Though they are interested in our arrival, so it’s only a matter of time before they initiate contact, if we don’t do it first.” Trainor was a bit relieved that they didn’t have to put up a defensive state at the moment, and he didn’t feel any hostilities at the moment.

Drudoc nodded, put out a general hail with the following. =/\= This is Captain Drudoc Andone of the Federation starship USS Ark Angel, we come in peace and to trade. May we approach the inner system? =/\= She asked.

Nivor sat in his chair as the captain began speaking, and turned his head as she finished. “Lieutenant Rainns, please keep an eye on the weapon status of ships in the area, and monitor comms traffic to give us a heads up - let’s make sure we know when we’ve worn out our welcome.”
