“We’ve encountered some energy pockets.” Fayth pulled up the data Riley had complied. “This right here shows the shuttle bay and these distortions,” she pointed to a few but there were several. “We had a sensory array on the science runabout explode.” She pulled up the logs for that time. “I felt something, like ice water, going down my back.” She pointed as the tiny pocket of energy literally moved down her back. “At the time,” she looked at Andone, the captain had never made her feel uneasy or incompetent, “I was thinking that I hoped I didn’t blow the array up trying to replace it. I’d never done it before.” The recording continued to play and showed just a moment later the sensory array exploding. “About the same time one of the security grids went out,” she changed the view of the information and it showed NE Nock had been working on said hub as another energy pocket passed through him. “Our scans show the energy patterns of these pockets operate similarly to transporters or replicators. They range in size from the size of a fingernail to much larger. The scans also show they react to our brain waves.” Fayth looked from Andone to Rainns, “To put it simply, if we think it, it will happen. These pockets will respond to our thoughts and make it reality, either by being created or moved or manipulated. The potential to help our situation is great, but a stray thought could cause harm. Such as my own.”

“Riley found a way to navigate around them and sent the information to the bridge. He’s also been in contact with engineering and they are working on a way to modify the shields to block these pockets.” Fayth knew it sounded far fetched but it wouldn’t be the first time energy and matter was affected by a crews thoughts in Federation history.

Drudoc reviewed the information, it was certainly a major find. “…Do they appear natural or synthetic in make?” She inquired. “..We’re coming up on that nearby system and the last thing we need is crazy things happening when we enter this new area..”

Fayth could surmise on her knowledge so far they seemed naturally occuring.

“Based on the information we have they are naturally occurring.” She was interested to see the extent of what the energy pockets could do, but testing them would require a very focused mind and precise parameters.

“Also En Genard has been working with engineering on refining the boridium to use. He wants to test it on one of the shuttles first.”

Drudoc considered this new information. “..We’re coming up the nearby system. I want you to look for a way to isolate these pockets and contain them see if we can find what they can do on a small scale level. As for the Boridium, Ive seen the work so far, once we’re in the system and secured tell him he can take one of our armadillo shuttles for a run provided the system is safe.” Drudoc said.

“Aye Cpt.” Sharah got to work with a couple of the engineering NEs that were still in the shuttle bay. Science crews were still working on finishing the diagnostics and repairing the science runabout’s damaged systems. She sent one eng and one sci NEs to offer to help security with the damaged security platform.

Sharah studied the information they had and kept coming back to the fact it was like a transporter pattern. She used the transporter to lock onto it and ‘beam’ it into the buffer, then told the computer to use that information to ‘beam out’ what the pattern actually was to the transporter pad in the Armadillo shuttle next to her. She entered the shuttle to see what, if anything they had to work with. The entire time she worked she watched the screen to make sure she didn’t come into physical contact with one of the ‘bubbles’ and to made sure her mind was exceptionally clear.

Unfortunately because of the timing of things the bubbles were now outside the ship due to engineering’s work on isolating and expelling them and keeping them out. So the request to the computer came up empty in result. It seemed their little science experiment would need to be on hold for now.

Fayth glared at the transporter but it would have to wait. She set the NEs to finish the repairs on the science shuttle. Genard needed to test out the boridium power source and she needed to get her hands on one of those energy pockets. 2 birds one shuttle. =^=Fayth to Genard. When you are done in engineering let’s talk about your shuttle test. Don’t rush down there though.=^=

Drudoc tapped her comm badge =/\= Understood Exec, begin scans for any life forms or ships, take us to yellow alert just to be on the safe side. =/\= Drudoc said.

Indicators on the wall lit in yellow, and all computer interfaces switched to amber, indicating the ship was now at yellow alert.

Feeling less than useless, Rainns turned toward Andone, “Captain if I am no longer needed here I feel I could best be positioned on the bridge.” He said, observing that Fayth had a handle on the situation.
