Davis paused for a moment to get a cart for the tricorders that had already had the new software flashed onto them. He said, “Sweet mercy how many do we have on each craft?”

Mosak grinned, “One for every person the craft can hold, minus the evacuation numbers.” Then his antenae waving about he pulled the next set of tricorders towards himself.

Sharah was entering the Fulcrum-class science vessel. “Computer, enter maintenance and work mode.” The vessel hummed and powered up and the computer chirped, “Access code required.” Sharah blinked, what? Oh right, she had those. “Fayth omega 9 5 2” “CODE ACCEPTED ENTERING MAINTENANCE WORK MODE”

“Computer start a level 1 diagnostic of all internal and external sensor systems.” The computer trilled and announced the amount of time needed. Sharah entered the science lab first. She started by checking the inventory list and then comparing it to what was actually on the shuttle. She also placed all the tricorders she found in a box and sent them out to Mosek to work on. There were things missing. She grabbed her PaDD and looked and then tapped her combadge =^= Winters, we’re short supplies. I’m sure the other shuttles are as well. But inventory logs show they came onboard with our last supply shipment. Head to the cargo bay and get anything allocated for the auxiliary craft and bring it here.=^=

Xartec worked diligently on the shuttle he was assigned to, actually taking note of what was wrong and what needed repair while Tabris joined Sharah in the science vessel and started to take many of the interior panels off, revealing the inner workings of the ship so he could begin inspection and any preventative maintenance work.

Sharah moved on to the medical bay on the shuttle. Walking in she felt the tension leave her shoulders, this she knew, here she was comfortable. She knew what to look for here, without having to think about it. It was second nature. “Computer initiate EMH program.”

“Please state the nature of the medical emergency.” Sharah turned to the image, “No emergency right now. Just running a diagnostic on your system.” The hologram nodded and initiated a level 1 diagnostic on itself. Sharah began working on the inventory and running diagnostics on the equipment. Nothing was missed, from small hand held devices to the biobeds to the medicines for the hypos. It didn’t take Sharah long at all to finish the medbay and she moved on to the medical lab. On her way through she spotted Tabris. “Let me know if you need help. So far everything seems okay here. I haven’t seen anything amiss here, so far. I hope it stays that way.”

NEs began to report back in one by one over the next few hours. Supplies were mostly in order and at the ready. Diagnostics showed no anomalies or problems on the shuttles or runabouts, all were in order and ready for flight at a minutes notice.

Tabris looked up from his work and noted that each diagnostic came back clear. But there was something he wanted to do. Old fashioned preventative maintenance. Each ship’s systems might be in order but each could use some love and care and Tabris went about the ship, checking the physical makeup of each relay, pump, plasma manifold, sensor array, and anything that might need alignment or work. Just because it was within spec didn’t mean it couldn’t be aligned. Smiling he said outloud to no one in particular, “Ah this brings back memories of working on the family car.” Tabris said as he had a distinct memory of working on the family’s 1989 Taurus wagon with his father. Was the technology basically stone age at this point? Sure it was, but that didn’t stop the smile on the man’s face as he worked to purge the impulse manifold and realign the dampers.

Sharah laughed, “One of these days, Tabris you are going to have to show me. I bet, Vedi would LOVE it though. You could make a holoprogram. How is it going with the kids? Are they settling in? OH I saw them earlier. On the way to the hull breach I had to go by the classrooms. They are all okay. Julin was trying to attack EXR-11 and dance with it. He really likes that robot. And....” her voice drops conspiratorially and looks around. “Neltus....and Vedi, have crushes on the the captain’s daughter.”

The computer beeped. “LEVEL 1 SENSOR DIAGNOSTIC COMPLETE. ARRAYS NEED TO BE REAGLINED” Sharah nodded, grabbed a tool kit and climbed up to a hatch and opened it. “Here’s hoping I don’t break it in the attempt.”

Lt. jg Fayth, CSO

Fayth felt a shiver pass over her, like something or someone was blowing a chill down her spine. The feeling passed before she could give it much thought though. As she opened the hatch on the array a series of sparks and smoke hissed out at her! Randomly it seems the sensor palette array had literally broken before her smoke filled eyes!

It was really more out of instinct than anything else that Sharah’s mind reached out at the cold chill seeking a reason for it. It wasn’t even conscious, but just a reaction. Feelings such as that tended to be caused, for her anyway, by detecting the emotions of someone else near her. Her mind simply sifted it, identified it, if she could amongst the noise, and sifted it. It wasn’t always that clean though, but her mind attempted it. She lifted the hatch, and the array blew in front of her, startling her, causing her to begin coughing violently from all the smoke, and she fell down the short ladder from the combination of shock and coughing. Blinking the smoke out of her eyes and still coughing she climbed back up and looked around. The sensory array was....in pieces…she pulled out her tricorder and started taking scans.

The cold chill and sudden mini explosion rattled her. “Tabris,” cough, “come up here, please.” Cough “Computer, give me all sensor readings from the runabout and the Ark Angel for the shuttle bay for the last 5 minutes. Display on the main screen in the runabout (OOC not sure the name of the runabout).” Something didn’t sit right, she felt uneasy, and she wasn’t sure why, but she’d learned to trust that instruct. She didn’t want to make a generic call and create something of nothing. She needed someone who knew her and could judge if she was simply feeding off the stress around her, or something else…=^=Fayth to Rainns. If you aren’t busy could you come to the shuttle bay, please.=^= Her voice seemed calm, broken by an occasional cough but there was a slight edge to it that he would notice. She wasn’t going to call the CO or XO until she knew something more concrete.

One could accuse Joseph of favoritism, with the speed in which he arrived at the shuttlebay. Rainns would just say he was doing his job. However, the deep breathing Joseph would be doing as he entered the shuttlebay, with his hand on his phaser, would betray the fact that he had been moving at a pace faster than walking. He quickly made his way to the shuttle craft. “How may I be of assistance to you Lieutenant?” He asked in a casual tone.
