[snip]Standing, he turned his head to take a headcount. He should have seven other crewman in this section. As he saw them, he ticked off their names ‘Bradbury…Pau… Gallman…’ He stopped in his count as he saw smoke rising from a area near the southwest wall. Almost instantaneously, he saw the flame above a work station.
“FIRE!” he shouted out. Moving quickly towards the flames a few things ran through his head. Water would make things worse as it was an electrical fire. The ship’s fire suppression system would require the room be evacuated, and they didn’t have that amount of time. It needed to be put out by taking out the fire’s air supply. Not seeing an appropriate blanket, he went to the nearest thing he could.
Claude removed his uniform tunic and turned it inside out, keeping his hands in the sleeves. He then used the tunic to cover the flames. Other members of the team arrived shortly and assisted him in putting out the fire.
- Ensign Genard
Beating at the fire with the help of others, and NE Willicker turning off the electrical source eventually put the fire out before it could spread any further then the table and immediate floor area. This was good because nearby canisters of hydrogen samples were nearby.

Orders came in through the consoles. En Genard was ordered to deck 44 to help determine what had hit the ship and caused the breach. Fayth ordered Genard to take his team and be prepared to help engineering repair the breach if necessary.
Riley was ordered to stand by. They were possibly launching a probe and hopefully he could use that information to determine where in the universe they had ended up. She asked him after the labs were straightened to send the crews to help in other areas of the ship, engineer, deflector, medical. Wherever they could be of use.
Lt. jg Fayth, CSO
Riley heard the yells from the general science lab next door and ran over in time to see Genard and others assembled putting out the fire. Riley cursed beneath his breath. Fire suppression systems are down. Not Good. That is very not good. He returned to assess the damage in astrometrics once he had confirmed the fire was out, and saw an incoming message alert flashing on the holodisplay. He read Lieutenant Fayth’s orders and nodded along.
“Alright team,” he called out, turning away from the table. “Fire suppression systems appear to be out. Any unstable experiments should be shut down immediately. Let’s get all of this equipment back where it belongs” - he gestured toward some table-top gear that had fallen - “and then I want you and you to head to engineering to assist with repairs. Smith and Wesson, you head to the deflector and assist there. Pullman and Paxton, you both have medical training, right? Head to sickbay when we’re done.”
He and Clues together lifted a piece of a scanner from the floor and Riley swore again, seeing some of the detector components fall out onto the floor. They set it on the table and Clues picked up the crystal fragments.
With the team working together they finished up quickly and the others went to their assigned areas to assist. Riley settled back, waiting on data from the probe to analyze their spatial location.

With the fire out and clean up mostly done by now, they were set to review the probe data once it was manually launched from orders to the NE’s in the manual launch control room.
OOC: I’ll assume this happens as per the orders on the bridge to keep things moving!
OOC: Class T nebula reference https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Class_T_nebula
OOC: Boridium references: Artificially generated by crew. Used as a power generator or convertor in compact machines and devices. TNG: The Quality of Life - The Exocomps are equipped with boridium power generators. Dr. Farillon attempts to destroy some of these Exocomps by overloading these generators. DS9: Babel - The Aphasia-inducing device has a di-boridium core which hints at possible Cardassian manufacture, but was actually created by the Bajoran Underground during the Cardassian occupation of Bajor.
The probe went out with a dull thud, and soon was on its own patrol route as described about 30,000km out circling the ship. Return readings showed they were in a dark green-red hued Class T type nebula composed mostly of rich pockets of hydrogen, helium, and argon gases. Also picked up by the probe in this nebula they were in were scattered nickel and iron, and interesting what might be the first instance of non-artificially created boridium rich asteroids. The Boridium being picked up did not carry the hall mark trademarks of artificial manufacture as far as the probe results could tell. The nebula within the 50,000km light years of scan radius the probe could produce from the ship showed they were in a sizable nebula at least it seemed. No signs of other life or ships were so far picked up. So far the scan results did not match any known nebulas on record.

Fayth appeared out of the tubolift and straight into the labs by passing her office all together. She stepped into the general labs with Genard and seeing the fire suppression efforts reassessed and was pleased that they had it under control. She grabbed an emergency medkit and began treating the minor injuries and barking orders for those seriously hurt to be escorted to deck 12 the closest medbay. At some looks and some stray thoughts she spoke while working, “I was a doctor first, remember,” and went back to her work of triaging the science crew. Then she motioned to Genard and stepped into Astrometrics with him looking for En Riley. “What have you got Riley? Q sent us spiraling through the universe. The ship’s in non to great of shape. Have support teams been sent out? And what about the left overs of the breach on deck 44?” she asked looking at Genard.
