As with the other areas of the ship those in the science labs soon were waking up with minor bruises and the like showing they had all been tumbled about. Thankfully no containers had been broken of acid but for Riley and Genard in the general science lab 1, they did have one minorish problem to contend with. That being a nearby spill had come alight near an electrical relay causing a small fire. With the emergency systems still rebooting they would have to put it out by manual suppression methods.

Claude opened his eyes slowly as he raised himself off the deck. His head hurt, and he could feel a real goose egg growing on the back of his skull. The last thing he remembered was the ship rocking violently. Clearly, he had fallen and hit the deck pretty hard. Taking stock of his surroundings, while rubbing the back of his head he could see the other crew members as they also were stirring.

Standing, he turned his head to take a headcount. He should have seven other crewman in this section. As he saw them, he ticked off their names ‘Bradbury…Pau… Gallman…’ He stopped in his count as he saw smoke rising from a area near the southwest wall. Almost instantaneously, he saw the flame above a work station.

“FIRE!” he shouted out. Moving quickly towards the flames a few things ran through his head. Water would make things worse as it was an electrical fire. The ship’s fire suppression system would require the room be evacuated, and they didn’t have that amount of time. It needed to be put out by taking out the fire’s air supply. Not seeing an appropriate blanket, he went to the nearest thing he could.

Claude removed his uniform tunic and turned it inside out, keeping his hands in the sleeves. He then used the tunic to cover the flames. Other members of the team arrived shortly and assisted him in putting out the fire.

Beating at the fire with the help of others, and NE Willicker turning off the electrical source eventually put the fire out before it could spread any further then the table and immediate floor area. This was good because nearby canisters of hydrogen samples were nearby.

Orders came in through the consoles. En Genard was ordered to deck 44 to help determine what had hit the ship and caused the breach. Fayth ordered Genard to take his team and be prepared to help engineering repair the breach if necessary.

Riley was ordered to stand by. They were possibly launching a probe and hopefully he could use that information to determine where in the universe they had ended up. She asked him after the labs were straightened to send the crews to help in other areas of the ship, engineer, deflector, medical. Wherever they could be of use.
