It was the same time of events as those on the bridge. When the first of the NEs began filing in from the brief period of change over from night shift to day shift. In that short period of time it seems someone had decided to have some ‘fun’ with the two big ‘star’ plants of the Arboretum. Mainly the Frost Lily and Geoff. Both were covered in tinsel, glitter, and colorful holiday christmas balls, topped with an appropriate sized golden-silver star hat on each.

How anyone had gotten into one of the areas much less two and gotten out with the change over crew NEs not noticing was anyone’s guess!

Andrea, the head civilian botanist walked around and at first seeing Geoff laughed, but seeing the Frost Lily she blanched. =^=Andrea to Lt Fayth....I need you in the aboretum, now....=^=

Sharah had just finished her morning meeting. She’d sent Genard to the bridge to take the morning shift. He was doing well and she thought the bridge shift for the day would be good for him to stretch his skills a bit. She turned before reaching her office and began to head towards the arboretum. Nothing much bothered Andrea. Not even the kids running around. =^=On my way.=^=

Sharah entered and looked around, not seeing much until she found Geoff. She laughed. Tabris would get a kick out of the decorations for Geoff. Why did that bother Andrea? She finally found the woman standing in front of the habitat for the Frost Lily. “What’s going on Andrea.....Oh!” Someone had been having fun with the Frost Lily too....And that was dangerous....”Okay well we’ll have to get that stuff out of there. If it eats any of that it could kill it. And that’s not going to be fun trying to climb on top of it to get that stuff off. I wonder if I could beam it out? But more importantly, how did they get in there?”

Moving to the computer console to the airlock for the habitat she pulled up the security lock and the records there to see if anyone had accessed the system and input the security codes and just on a hunch she checked to make sure the security protocols were still in place. “Hey Andrea pull up the security feeds for the arboretum. Let’s watch them and see if we can see who did it. I want to make sure it wasn’t one of the kids on board. This thing is not safe to use as part of a prank. No matter how festive.”

Checking the security locks she found they were still engaged. Checking the video logs she found curiously that the cameras cut out about for two minutes before Andrea’s arrival and the departure of the night shift. Just before they shut down things seemed to be a’ok and running fine, then they registered a scan loss for that time period before coming back on with the results before them. No sign of what had caused the loss of scanning seemed on record.....it was almost....magical!

Sharah wasn’t quite ready to call security into this one yet. =^=Fayth to Bridge. We’ve had an incident down here in the arboretum. The security feeds were cut off for the time we are looking at and then the ships scans cut out at the same time as well. Before I get security down here, is there anything going on I should know about?=^= If this was some sort of traditional thing for the crew she didn’t want to cause trouble. But if someone was breaking into the Lily’s habitat and wasn’t aware of safety protocol that was dangerous. While she waited she also checked to see if the security locks went down at the same time or if they stayed intact.

Over the comms the music of Andy Williams ‘It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ was playing. Drudoc unable to turn it off on her end yet, replied. =/\= It seems we’re also experiencing some holiday ‘cheer’ up here on the bridge. Run a diagnostic see if there’s any cause of malfunction before alerting security, try a backup database rebuild from the tertiary core. =/\= She said.

Checking the locks there was a record of their being disengaged without the normal passcode when the scans and cameras went down.

Sharah looked at Andrea, “Alright I’ll get to work on this. Check the rest of the arboretums. Make sure all the plants are okay. But first double check the Lily make sure the environmental controls are still set.”

Sharah headed back to the science labs and started to call Gerard and remembered he was on the bridge for the day. She walked into the general science labs. “Okay people we’ve got a problem. I need my computer science people, now.” She walked over to the main lab area for the computer science team. “We need to run a diagnostic on the arboretum systems and on the sensor and security footage systems for those areas. Someone cut all the systems off and we need to find out if it was someone, a mal function, or something else.” She turned to NE Vulrex, “See if you can reinstate the database from the tertiary computer core. I’m going to go check the rest of labs to make sure there are no issues there. Let me know what you find.”

First she headed into her office to check the main display screen at her desk to see if anything else showed awry there, then she would move to through the labs one by one.
