Sharah nodded, “I would like to see it. Holograms hold a strange sense of relief and regret to them for me, but I’m always up to see a new program.”

Lt jg Fayth, CSO

“Well come along then,” Trax commented politely to her. As he started to enter the Holodeck there was a pleasant breeze blowing from the doors. They entered the holodeck to a massive building area near the parking lot full of cars. They picked a line to gain quick and efficient entry to the park. as they heard soft nice carnival-type music coming from the pa system. As an announcer came over along with the music “Welcome to Geauga Lake Park.” Trax had his season pass around his neck ready to show the Park entrance attendant as he showed his pass to the ticket agent. “Welcome back Mr. Suder and Guest.

As the Ticket agent made up an additional ticket for Fayth with her name on it and a lanyard for her to put around her neck too. “Your picnic area was prepared earlier according to the computer. You have the Garden pavilion to yourselves without anyone interfering with your experience for your dining pleasure and enjoyment.” the female agent said kindly to them as she ushered them through the gate to enter the park. She was going to offer them an escort to the area but she saw he had been there before so the ticket agent spoke up quickly. “Welcome to Geauga Lake Park and enjoy your stay! “She smiles as she waved them on. And waved to the next set of customers entering the park.

It was a unique experience, that was for sure. Sharah slipped the lanyard over her neck and took in the crowd. It wasn’t an experience she would have had with real people. Here, the people weren’t real, and she knew that, but it was like ready a book. She knew only what the author wanted her to know. There was no expectation or access to thoughts and knowledge that she shouldn’t have. The story was free to play out exactly like it was supposed to and not before it should. The characters in books were like friends that didn’t have any expectations of her or her of herself. She would learn about their personalities in a more genuine manner, and on the holodeck it was much the same. Sharah watched the characters move through the ticket booth and into the park taking off in different directions based on previously determined reasons, that if she cared to stop the characters she could talk to them and question them. “It’s an awfully busy place isn’t it?”
Lt jg Fayth, CSO

He was not sure if he was asking him or one of the other holograms. “If the crowd is too heavy its not hard to lighten the experience.” Troy offered. “Of course this one of the most popular types or forms of entertainments since 1846 when the first amusement parks emerged in history and it lasted till at least 22 century but could be longer than that since there are other pleasure planets or resorts still around till this day all which are unique. The waterslides on Risa. etc.” Trax said calmly. “only one plus is that their minds as tin the holographic characters won’t bother you as it would be in real life.” Trax offered the idea.

Sharah had been speaking to him, observing the program. “Oh no the amount of people is fine. It’s more honest this way. And it’s not like they are real, there is nothing for me to overhear. It’s not a place I would ever be able to go in reality.”

As they walked along through the gates they came to a massive fountain that was running flowing water in tiers in baths and pools to a big pond at the base. that laid in front of them covered in flowers, rose bushes, and lilypads. As the main street appeared to go around the massive water feature and continued uninterrupted along the pathways. as they moved to the side and continued on their walk. just past the fountain. there were a series of shops and concession stands and other restaurants along the promenade of the main street that stretched for a quarter of a mile. Also, there was a park map display showing where all the sites and attractions were located in the park as another sign right next to it was pointing the way to the nearby attractions like the Bel-Air Skyway Rail Tram as he was reading them along with the other pointers to the pioneer village, and rainbow island water park And corporate picnic pavillions among others destinations.

Sharah stopped to watch the water feature and plants. She couldn’t help it, they weren’t real but the the design was beautiful and it gave her an idea for another arboretum project. She was curious why they would put roses so close to a fountain like that though. They probably had to transplant a lot due to the roses getting drowned. She watched the antics of a pair of siblings trying to toss coins onto the lilly pads and see if they would stay there or sink. These were small and some dipped into the water and others bobbed along quietly.

“We will be taking the Bel-Air Skyway Tram to the private picnic area.” As he pointed to some tracks above them and a platform station that was upstairs. As they climbed the large concrete and metal staircase going up one way to the main platform. As they exited onto the platform they got into line to get into one of the tram cars and took a seat. As they got comfortable in the sets a platform employee closed the bar to the tram.

Before it took off on its leisurely ride to other portions of the park above the crowds as it glided over its tracks smoothly to the second station stop from his vantage point he could see way off in the distance.
“The big dipper there is one of the massive old-style wooden roller coasters of its time its original to the park in 1925 The park itself was opened in 1887 as a swimming and recreation park. The big dipper was named Skyrocket 1925 then the clipper 1940s and now the big dipper in 1969 till the park died in 2007.” Trax Commented calmly.

They heard the car of passengers pass them on their own tracks as the cheers and laughter came from them also when they passed them. They started to hear the sound of an old-style carousel which had an old-type steam organ in it playing another tune of music. As he looked down he saw more people walking along the streets below eating pink stuff and other foods along with people playing the carnival games and other smaller rides for children to ride on without fear of danger of them getting hurt. There were plenty of trees at this park along with plenty of greenery. After passing a series of trees he could see more of the park along with another park on the other side of the lake that looked like it housed animals and other aquatic activities there he could read the sign it read sea world. As the tram slowly entered the second platform.

Sharah took in the rollercoaster and shook her head. “No thanks. I’ll usually try anything once, but I think I’ll avoid that. Looks like I could lose my lunch.” The shrieks of the people on it were amusing as they were so happy to take off and then turning to screams of terror as it dropped underneath them. No thanks, I’m not into adrenaline rushes.

An Announced spoke up welcome to platform two. People wanting to stay on board can do so or they can exit here for the local attractions.” the announcer said kindly to all. Trax stood up “this is our stop” as the employee opened the bar for them to exit the tram. And anyone else that wished to exit their car too.

They moved over towards the exit stairs as he ascended to the main level of the tram complex and the concourse below that had shops, concessions, and other things of interest. along with other rides nearby as he heard the pipe organ coming from the old classic carousel. And another ride playing a lot of heavy beated music. “I believe they called it rock and roll music?” Trax pointed to the music coming from another nearby ride.

The music was different but it had a deep base that was moving and seemed to pulse like a heart beat among the noise that was in her head. “My transport out to Ark Angel the pilot was fond of Earth’s country music. She did her best to ‘convert me’ to real music. But I will always have a fondness for Frank Sinatra.”

A moment later he saw the name of the ride. As he read it out loud. “The Rock and Roll Express.” Trax said calmly. “Apparently it played music as the riders enjoyed going in a circular ride as it went up and down its peaks and valleys as they ride they all seemed to enjoy it.”Trax finished. as their cheering voices screamed in delight. He started to follow the signs again As they started walking past the shops and games as they took a side path he knew to get to the picnic site area. Which was quieter because the bushes calmed the noises from the rides and others enjoying the park.

he could actually hear the birds singing and wind rustle through the trees as a light breeze tossed the leaves on a nice warm summer day it was perfect not to hot or cold. a partly cloudy day with streams of storm clouds off in the distance but you could tell it was hours away from hitting. The park was now a soft melody in the background as nature took over the scene.

A park employee came up to them to see if they needed assistance. As he finished directing them to the site. As a clearing came into a view as a small white gazebo came into view as a small table with linen on them along with a small lantern with a light inside glowing peacefully as it was protected by the panes of glass that prevented the wind from blowing the light out. As it waited on them to arrive and enjoy its lite.

Your more than welcome to ad what you wish to the post I made it more fun I hope.
This was an actual theme park when I was growing up which is now going to time and space ***
its now in ruins. Most rides and equipment have been resold to other theme parks ***
That is SO sad. But the description you’ve given is wonderful!

The park was exquisite and the variety of flora was beautiful. Many of it reminded her of Melinda and Mark’s back yard. It was beautiful. She wondered what Lilly, their dog, would do with this much open space. Probably run everyone ragged chasing after her. The perfect weather just reminded her that it wasn’t real. It was programmed and predictable. And despite the chaos that she lived among in her life, Sharah preferred the real to a fantasy. Trax would sense that not giving in to fanciful dreams and unrealistic realities was a strict tenant she lived by. But the holodeck didn’t fall under that, it just reminded her of that rule. “It’s a marvelous program. However did you find it?”
Lt jg Fayth, CSO

“A friend told me about it.” Trax said with a small smile. “We were doing some research on how far back that theme parks went back in history and we found it among a ton more that failed and closed in the last century but luckily there are still some that are around.” Trax said kindly to her. “care for a bit to eat?I have some old world-class southern fried chicken and jojos. Along with a dessert with a nice pecan pie. Also, there is some lemonade to drink and some sweet iced tea. there is some salad here too like potato salad, slaw and baked beans along with some side salads with dressing.” Trax gave down a small sampling of what was to be had to eat.

She hadn’t had an apatite while at that meeting, and so had not eaten anything much, just mostly for show. She choose lemonade since there was no water. Dr Zarath would be so upset she didn’t choose the tea, but she just couldn’t. Some times she would drink Betazoid tea when she was feeling homesick, but she didn’t really like it. She took a small amount of beans and then a salad, again reminded of home. Or what she thought of as home, now. She wasn’t hungry, her apatite still gone, but she also knew she had to eat something. “Did you and your friend visit a lot places like this?” She rubbed her temples absently, trying to ease the ache in her head. She really had to find some way to get on top of this. She was also concerned about Trax’s uneasy feeling of being watched.
Lt. jg Fayth, CSO

Trax was more picking at the food than eating it even though he wanted it but the feeling of being watched won’t leave his mind even though its almost gone. “As For the feeling of being watched its more than likely my mother trying to scare me again. She wants to take control of my life again and I am refusing her. That’s one of the reasons I have been band from going home again or renounced by betazed.” Trax said with a hard deep sigh. “I will eat if you will eat. If you wish water I believe there is a bottle in the bottom of the basket.” Trax offered.
