Posted by… suppressed (1) by the Post Ghost! 👻“I see, I will not ‘forget about’ the pain of one of my subordinates Tho I will not restrict your duties. And your particularly strong reaction to me?”
Soval
I will not restrict your duties. That one statement felt like a slap in the face to Sharah. As if he’d considered doing as such. She schooled her expression though. She had learned the hard way that Vulcans, despite knowing that other species felt emotions, did not accept them easily. It was better to be politely blunt than hedge she knew. “To be honest, Sir, because you are Vulcan. Vulcan training gives you very peaceful consciousness, but, for me anyway, it leaves your subconscious in constant turmoil. That turmoil, the way I perceive it, is loud to the point of pain.” She stopped there. Vulcans were NOT without emotion, it was just very buried in their subconscious. That was why they had to meditate every day. But all that suppressed emotion was in turmoil in the subconscious. And unlike other humanoid subconscious all that pressure made it loud and painful instead of the white noise she constantly battled. But the last time she’d told a Vulcan that, it had been very very bad for her. And she didn’t know the XO well enough to know how he would react. Maybe if they weren’t in company, but she wouldn’t give up Trax’s support for anything.
Lt jg Fayth, CSO“Mine more than most, I would imagine Doctor. Tho in honesty I would imagine my conscious is not much calmer.” His face didn’t betray any emotion. “If possible I would like to minimize the discomfort I cause you.” Tho Batazed had had years to study this phenomenon their were some of the best minds and equipment in the federation on the Ark Angel, perhaps an outside reference would find a solution, or not.
SovalIn an effort to be willing to work together and to be honest. “Your conscious thought, when you choose, is strongly blocked from me LC.” When he choose to block his thoughts Sharah could not hear it. She felt his ‘presence’ and his subconscious. And that was probably because Vulcan’s didn’t train anyone to block the subconscious. It just wasn’t part of their culture to do so. They didn’t see it as significant enough to bother with. It wasn’t a failing just a difference of priorties.
Dinui walked in and found the others after a few moments of walking through one of her favorite places on the ship. The arboretum was a wonder on any ship but this was widely expanded and so many different flora and fauna she never got tired of the new discoveries on her brief visits. She smiled as she caught up to the others. “Sorry for my tardiness, everyone. I brought some extra croissants to make up for it.” she said lightly hoping she hadn’t kept them waiting too long.
- Dinui xi’Indrai, Counselor
Sharah eagerly took a croissant. She’d been in the counselor’s office enough times now that she was just a bit addicted to them. She wanted to learn how to make them, but she didn’t have time at the moment. “I was just explaining to LC Soval about my condition.” She took a moment to take a bite and finish it before adding, “and explaining my particularly strong reaction to his mind.”
Lt jg Fayth, CSO“Thank you Doctor, that should be a pleasant addition to lunch. Your input would be even more appreciated.”
SovalDinui nodded, “Whatever I can do to help. I am happy to.” she was always willing to help, not matter the location. The more they worked together the more likely they could find solutions.
- Dinui ix’Indrai, counselor
Sharah had exhausted a lot of options in her life time already. She really didn’t know what to offer. She had an aversion to Vulcan minds, it wasn’t the LC’s fault. And he’d already gone to great lengths to learn about her. And maybe it was simply another trauma she needed to work though with the counselor. But she didn’t know what to tell him. Perhaps Dinui or Trax would have suggestions that she hadn’t considered?
Lt. jg Fayth, CSO“What would you you propose, Doctor Fayth? Should I attempt to learn to shelf buy subconscious as well? I am willing to attempt to but I will need some one to guide me.” Pausing a moment. “It seems that many have tried to ‘fix you’ Doctor, I would propose we allow you to guide us in finding working solutions. You have proven yourself a very capable officer. All the more impressive in light of what you have told us. You have a ship full of people and resources at your disposal. As for myself I will make any reasonable effort on your behalf, including training myself to shield my subconscious.” Persona his lips. “The only restriction is that you don’t except the status quo.”
SuvalTrax knew that normal treatments or past treatments more than likely would not do but he wondered if maybe he could become a new bridge and he could help her contract a wall in her mind to help her to show her in her mind how to do it. kinda like directive dreaming but more personal and more intimate because they would have to truly share minds. “Have you tried directive dreaming and mind merging along with mind to mind teaching?” Trax kinda offered an unusual option. “There are other telepathic races in the federation, maybe they might have other options too. ” Trax said with a small smile on his face.

Dinui spoke up, before Sharah could respond to Trax’s suggestion. “I think for now just getting ideas out is best for Sharah, I don’t want to try implementing anything until we have explored all options and the positive and possible negative after affects that may occur.” she looked at everyone before she added, “We have meal here let’s enjoy it and see what we come up with together.”

OOC: if you want me to edit anything just let me know :)
Sharah nodded to Trax, but her voice was very low. “I have.” She didn’t elaborate at first. “It was a very painful experience. For myself, but even more so for the monks and doctors that tried it.” It wasn’t simply a matter of closing it off. The amount of information had overwhelmed the other person causing a great amount of pain. She wished desperately at this point for Joseph. The idea of anyone else sharing her mind felt…wrong to her and she was grateful for Dinui for putting a stop to that particular idea for the moment. She understood Trax’s idea, but it didn’t make it a comfortable idea for her either. The drinks were in front of her and she passed them, taking only a small piece of fruit for herself, her apatite gone, but she couldn’t exactly skip a meal in front of all these people either. These people were trying to help her, even if they didn’t know how. It was always the same and she felt very much like a lab rat. “I am capable of building a wall, but the consequences of doing so is not good for me. And the aftermath can affect every telepath around me.” She’d also end up in sickbay for an extended amount of time. She could show them, but again, at what cost to herself and more importantly those around her.
Lt. jg Fayth, CSO
Trax was confused by all the rejections. it was is a suggestion or idea was all. Trax moved off a bit and let the others to continue to access the problem if he could remember anything he would add more to the ideas. But felt off he started to the feeling of being watched again. as he shook the thought away as he looked over the chameleon flowers that fayth dealt with earlier in the week. they were looking amazing and he was glad they were doing better. As he healed one of the roses in his hand but not picking it the bush started to change colors it was like a Christmas tree with all the bud flashing and changing colors. as the one, he touched shower a beautiful sky blue colors as the other parts of the bush showed different and vibrant colors as he calmly smelled the bud as he released the bush the colors started changing randomly as the bush slowly changed back and forth. He sighed hard as he turned back toward the others as he made his way to the small table with food on it. and he gathered a small sampling of all that was there. And moved off to eat in peace and was still close enough to answer anything that might be asked of him.
