Almost as though it was planned, the probe sent back a partial visual of some sort of distortion similar to the effect that occurs when a ship cloaks or de-cloaks–an almost wavy-like pattern. It was like this mystery vessel had to re-engage it’s cloaking device but never became visible. But there was something…off about it, almost as if it wasn’t really there or as if it wasn’t a ship cloaked there at all.

Long range sensors would also pick up an energy spike in the Montezuma at the same time as the visual disturbance began, with the spike dropping partially during the event, then completely after it finished.

”..Helm what’s our ETA to arrival at the Montezuma?” Drudoc inquired.

NE Bob, the Helmsman, turned and spoke up. “ETA roughly an hour to the Montezuma, Captain.”

”..Good that should be plenty of time to get to the bottom of the oddities of our guest.” Drudoc said. Having yet to be informed of the odd probe readings on scans.

With the ship and crew ready as they would be for what may come, Drudoc waited for any further updates to come through on the probes or from Sickbay from their guests.

Lieutenant Fayth’s PADD pinged with an incoming message alert. The brief notification indicated it was from Ensign Riley, in the astrometrics lab.

The full message, once opened, read:

From: Ensign Riley, Matthew Subject: Sensitive Request
Lieutenant, Scans are still under way. Short-range specialist NEnsign Shannon is assisting. I have found some peculiar results that I would like your permission to get assistance from engineering in deciphering. If you grant it, where would be the best location to meet them, you think? Sincerely, Matthew

Sharah saw the screen on her bridge console flashing indicating a message. She walked over to the station and sat down reading the message. Being on the bridge she felt comfortable enough to answer him with a comm.

She waited patiently to et that preliminary report from Riley on her screen.

Carful to shield his mind Soval approached the Science Officer . “Mr. Fayth, if you could find out the composition of the nebula perhaps we can can manipulate it to give us a ‘Visual’ of sort.” Returning to his orbit of the bridge, he continued to attempt to build a strategic view of their situation. Juggling the rumors of a ghost planet with the regions history and the data the crew was gathering.
