Fayth entered the science labs and looked around. There were a couple of NEs working on other projects so she took an empty lab table and got to work. She was hoping to identify the chemical composition of whatever had damaged the shuttle. She put the samples she’d taken off of the shuttle and prepared them, and then she put them into a modern day mass spectrometer to identify the chemical make up. She also input the dimensions of the pockmarks into the computer. Once she knew what it was made of she could make an educated guess as to what the ‘projectile’ had looked like and what exactly it was.

Then she input the samples from the ionic damage into the system to identify the specific type of ions that had bombarded the shuttle. Once she knew the type of Ion she determined the half life of it so she could calculate when and how far away the shuttle was when it had been bombarded by the ions.

Once identified she ran that information against the scans of this area of space. (OOC: I saw on another thread that there is very little info about this area, or the ‘planet’ anyway. Not sure if that applies to what she is doing.) Trying to pin point where exactly the shuttle had traveled to get to Ark Angel.

(OOC: She’s trying to figure out exactly what caused the damage around the shuttle door, and what their flight path might have been based on the time and type of ion radiation they travelled through in order to find out where they came from/where the Montezuma is.)

The ion signatures were of a patch of ionic radiation relatively near to where the Ark Angel picked up the shuttle. A direct route from the coordinates to the location where the shuttle was retrieved was entirely possible without passing through the radiation patch, which would strike anyone as odd, as the shuttle would not have had to been damaged if they’d taken the direct route.

Sharah was no investigator but the results seemed suspicious to her. Maybe she she’d just spent too much time with Joseph? She laughed at the thought while she waited. But she doubted that was it. She had this feeling in her gut that she always got when she had missed something when diagnosing a patient. Something wasn’t right.

Sharah transferred the results to her PaDD, then she turned to the other test she was running. She checked the machine and the computer to make sure it was working properly. She was waiting to see if the computer could identify what had made the pock marks on the shuttle that looked like BB shot. It was a strange type of damage for a space shuttle and she wanted to know what had caused the damage. She was just being impatient. She would like to have those results as well before she reported to the bridge.

She wasn’t sure what the protocol was for informing the bridge. Was she supposed to go up there? Maybe, but she wanted to wait for the other results first, but the results were to strange and she didn’t want to report it over ship’s comms. “NE 13, I want to know the second those results are up.” NE 13 looked up from his experiement and over to the machines Fayth pointed to. “Yes ma’am.” With that Fayth left for the bridge.
