We need to talk.. Soval calls Mr. Fayth
Posted by Lieutenant Commander Soval (Executive Officer) in We need to talk.. Soval calls Mr. Fayth
=^= Mr. Fayth, call me when it is convenient. LC Soval=^= would be waiting in her morning mail.
LC Soval
Sharah stared at the message on her screen. She dropped her head into her hands. She couldn’t ignore it and as much as she wanted to she could only reasonably put it off for part of the day. Sharah thrived from adversity though. It was all she’d ever known. Nothing was easy. =^=Jr Lt Fayth to LC Soval. I’m available now if that works for you, Sir.=^= She went ahead and put her materials away for the experiment she was working on in her minilab in the office. Then she left her office and just began to walk working on rising above the noise as high as she could and preparing for the intense headache she would have not too soon from then.
Lt jg Fayth, CSOIt was a minuet before he responded . =^= Are you near a terminal were we may speak privately?=^= unfortunately he had other projects going for his attention.
=^=I will be momentarily sir.=^= Sharah was glad she was already walking about. Her office was too busy for a private conversation. “Computer Deck 4” she changed the destination of the turbolift. She stepped out and down to her quarters. Sitting at her desk she turned on her console. =^=I am now sir. What can I do for you?=^= She waited for him to start whatever communique he had in mind.
Lt jg Fayth, CSO“ I wish to speak of your promotion. Specifically your reaction to what I presume was telepathic stimulus.” After a pause. “ Is this expectable?”
LC Soval
Sharah would have preferred to have the counselor or doctor present for this. Someone who actually understood her condition and that she was capable of doing her job and serving. She had never met a Vulcan who saw beyond her condition. They were always judgemental and belittling. She had no reason to believe this would be different. Was it acceptable? Did she have a choice?
“Of course, LC. What specifically would you like to discuss?”
Lt jg Fayth, CSO“What can be done to minimize your discomfort, and wether you would be comfortable bringing Doctor Suder in to consult?” A pause as Soval considers the need for small talk. “Your record speaks for its self Doctor, but there is no need for you to suffer if we can find a workable solution.”
LC Soval
Sharah was surprised to say the least. He as concerned for her discomfort. That was the last thing she was expecting, but she reminded herself that each individual should be judged for him/herself. Something her empathy had proven to her again and again. “I certainly have no objection to asking Dr. Suder, but I’m not sure he would be willing or able.” From her conversation with Trax he was unable to contact Betazed due to whatever his mother had done, and he would need to be able to do that to access the research her Betazoid doctors had done on her condition, to speak with them, and access the history that was accumilated. Well maybe not, she had all of it, unless something new had been found. “Dr. Marshall is familiar with my condition as well and has been my doctor previously.” She was on Challenger with her briefly and the Dr Mika had made the entire med staff aware of her condition and the different stop-gate messures that were available. “However, Lt Cmdr there really isn’t much that can be done. I’m sorry if it intruded on your,” what was the word her Vulcan tutors used? “Equilibrium. The captains announcement caught me by surprise. It won’t happen again.” Of course it would. But she would control it better. She was unused to the sheer size of the crew, but she’d get better.
Lt jg Fayth, CSO“My ‘equilibrium’ is already compromised, Doctor. My concern is not for my self but for you. I was hoping that Doctor Suder, as a telepath could shed some light on what what is going on between our minds in a more or less controlled manor. Tho if you do not wish to, I will buy no means force the issue unless it effects your duties.” After a pause, “If you wish to investigate further then buy all means invite anyone you wish to assist.”
LC Soval
“I have no objection to asking Dr. Suder, I was offering an alternative if he should not be available or able.” And knowing the nature of her condition, “It would be prudent to invite the counselor, Dr. xi’Indrai as well.” Fayth paused a moment and resisted the urge to smile at the Vulcan XO. “It seems we are at a unique impasse then because my concern is not for myself, Sir. I’m used to the difficulties it causes for myself. My concern is for you. Perhaps it would be better to discuss this in person with the Drs present?”
Lt jg Fayth, CSO“That would be the next logical step, Doctor Fayth. Would you like to make the arrangements or shall I?.”
LC Soval
The XO was new on board and would have several meetings and personal appts to take care of. Sharah’s routine on board was already set. It would be better for him to arrange it. “I am at your disposal Lt Cmdr. What ever you arrange will work for me.”
Lt jg Fayth, CSO“Then I will contact Doctors Suder and Xi’Indral and set up an appointment Doctor.”
LC Soval
“Understood commander. I’ll be there.” Sharah signed off the terminal and put her head down on her crossed arms on the desk. She really wished she was back in that isolated little cabin on the American gulf coast, away from everyone. She felt very alone and for a moment she just let it all swirl and take her down with it. It was a pity party and she was stronger than that. She took one deep breath and pushed back from her desk. She had another desk waiting for her. She left her quarters to return to her office. But once she stepped into the science suite there was no end of problems her staff all wanted her to fix for them.
