Matthew was getting tired of turbolifts, even if they were very short trips; this one was from deck 11 to deck 12, so was literally only seconds long, but he still found himself leaning against the wall until it ended.

There was still a decent walk until he reached sickbay, and he found himself much more relaxed by the time he arrived. This is usually the short check-in, he reminded himself. The doors opened to the largest sickbay he had ever seen, and he had to pause to take it in.

“They don’t do anything small on Mythology-class do they?” he muttered.

“No, they do not,” a small woman in medical blue responded from beside him with a grin. “How can I help you?”

Riley started at the sound of her voice and gave a sheepish grin. “Oh, um, Ensign Matthew Riley, here for my boarding physical,” he responded.

She nodded and tapped some buttons on the PADD she pulled from behind her back. “I’ll have one of the doctors right with you, Ensign.”

Hayley stepped out of her office just as Nurse Robbins was speaking to the Ensign. “Thank you Kenda,” she said with a smile,” No need to pull anyone else from their tasks. I can see to this.” She turned toward the new arrival. “Ensign Riley was it? Welcome to the Ark Angel. I’m Dr. Marshall.”

Riley smiled back in kind. “Pleasure to meet you Dr. Marshall, and thank you! I’m excited to be here.” He took in the room again, nodding appreciatively. “The medical facilities are as impressive as the science labs. This ship is incredible.”

He gestured around. “So, where do you want me?”
