As Tolly materialized on the transporter pad he saw a young NCO waiting for him.

“Welcome aboard the Ark Angel sir! NC Charlie said with a smile, You are to report to sickbay for your medical check up and then to the counselor for your eval.”

Tolly gave the NCO a nod, “Thank you Crewman” he said as he looked around for a second

NC Charlie gave a nod back “I’ll make sure your bags are in your quarters,” He said as he taped his padd. “After you are done with your evaluations you are to report to Lt. Watley in Security for your assignments”

“Acknowledged, thank you again crewman”

Ensign John Tolly

OOC: Been wanting to do this sorta thing for a while sooooo....

Barely had Tolly gotten outside transporter room 1 when he came upon an interesting sight. A gaggle of 12 children around 10-13 years of age was lead by likely a pair of the civilian teachers who taught the children among the crew of the Mythology class Ark Angel. “..And here we are students outside transporter room 1! Can anyone tell me three things about the transporter from our history studies?” Hands went up from some of the children, shepherded from the rear by the second teacher to stay off to the side of the corridor from passing traffic.

One 10 year old girl a human by the looks of things, raised her hands and once indicated too answered. “..The first human made transporter in operation was in 2124!” The girl said.

”..Yes! By the human scientist Emory Erickson, correct Emily.” The 1st teacher said. “..Anyone else?” she prodded as more hands went up. “..Yes Richardo?” she said to a 11 or so year old half-human/bajoran boy.

”..In 2249 power consumption rates were reduced, which meant older models made of the lateral vector transporter designs fell out of favor due to their high power demands!” he said.

”..Yes, good work Richardo, though you are right, some ships still had such transporters aboard in that time like the aging Walker class light cruisers.” She said.

Getting a final hand raise by what appeared to be a half-romulan/human girl aged around 13, “..Yes Tel’eck?” the teacher asked.

”..While transporters are generally an accepted mode of transport in known space within the Alpha and Beta quadrants through this century. In other regions like the Delta quadrant, the USS Voyager while displaced there reported many species were unfamiliar or without knowledge of such devices..” She said.

”..Correct Tel’eck. Good work everyone. Now it seems we have a new arrival to the ship unless I miss my guess?” She said turning to Tolly. “..Greetings Ensign. I’m NC Sarah a teacher for the history classes aboard the Ark Angel. Would you have a moment to introduce yourself to the class and what your position will be?” She asked politely.

Teachers and Students

Tolly smiled putting his hands behind his back.
“I would be happy too” he said I am ensign John Tolly and I will be working in security.” He paused for a moment. “Kids I wonder if any of you can guess what planet I’m from?” He asked kneeling down to get eye level with the kids.
“I’ll give you a clue, its the star system closest to Earth.”
