USS Ark Angel

Settling In and Rearranging - CSO's Office

[snip]

OOC: Nice Post!

Sharah stepped into the science suite and around at the different lab spaces. Wrapping with the hull of the ship a corridor led to the left and right of the door. Down the left on the outer wall was Astrometrics labs 1 and 2 and the inner wall housed the exobiology labs 1 and 2. Down the right hand corridor were the 3 general science lags along with planetary science lab 1. More labs were right below them on deck 14, sharing half that deck with the security department. The other half of deck 13 housed the shield generators.

Directly across from the door was the office. Sharah stepped across and walked into her new office. It was…spacious. She hadn’t expected that. When she’d met the aCSO here, she had been too busy trying to get settled to take note of it. The aCSO as temporary and there had been a lack of personal touch. The room was long and rectangular, curved slightly with the shape of the ship. It extended to either side of the door. The desk took up the large space in front of her, the chair facing the door, and would put her back to the large spacious window. Sharah hated it.

She spent a great deal of time moving things around. This was how En Riley found the office when he came to check in. Furniture moved, things packed and unpacked and the flower box partially built. Her day continued in that manner, running back and forth from labs while she worked, and when she had a moment, trying to arrange her office. If she hadn’t been so busy she might have found the idea humorous.

Now entering her office the space directly in front of the door was the large window. The flower bed was there, not yet planted, but there were several seedlings in small pots sitting on the floor nearby. The whole right side of the office from the door to the end, was a small lab area. A lab table, sink, emergency kits, and other various equipment was there. To the left was her desk. The desk was against the front wall, allowing her to look out the glass wall and around the science suite. The replicator was on the wall behind her desk. On her desk was a basic personal computer terminal. Mounted to the corner was a large screen that displayed what was going on in all the science labs. The ones here on deck 13 and 14. As well as those located in the lower hull of the ship. The information provided the overall status of each lab as well as the equipment and any updates the officers added about their work. On the left corner facing towards the middle of the desk, is a photo of Joseph and her. There were also several notebooks/sketchbooks as well as PaDDs containing a myriad of information about the workings of the labs and her own personal projects.

Lt jg Fayth, CSO

Fayth had just gotten to this point of setting up her department office when there was a ‘ping’ from the door chime. Curiously she couldn’t pick up any ‘signals’ from the person at her door mentally. As she might ponder this her delay caused another ‘ping’ to sound a moment later.

Once she would finally allow entrance the door swooshed open and the mystery of why she couldn’t sense her guest was answered, it was a small waist high robot on treads! The robot was quite simplistic in design, but its outer shell was nothing short of artistic in scope. Made up of ceramic plastics, it had a myriad of paintings on it ranging from a 4-6 year old’s hands of smiling yellow or orange suns, to more talented pieces of little connected colored pieces glued on. The ‘head’ of the little robot on treads was a large plastic half dome filled with a jelly like blue substance in which were suspended little hand carved plastic stars, squares, triangles, circles, and other shapes done by a child’s hand ranging from 6-8 years. The body, in addition to the above mentioned little colored suns, and plastic puzzle pieces and two whirring stubby ‘arms’ ending in twin pinchers. Within the main body shell itself, made up of similar clear plastics, was the ‘heart’ of the robot and ‘brain’. A simple connected isolinear four chip set powered by a tiny power cell. Both arms were shaped inward holding a small bright pink sealed bag as if in offering to her as it whirred forward on its motorized treads into the office. Said treads were the most complex in design, made of rubber and plastics like the rest they were still rugged in scope for maneuvering. Stopping at the front of her desk the arms raised and set the bag in offering on it before a soft giggle echoed from somewhere on it.

Thankfully the source was quickly identified, a speaker unit just at the top of the ‘body’ and between the ‘head’. =/\= giggle See told you she was in! giggle came an unfamiliar girl’s voice. =/\=

=/\= Hush! You’re ruining the surprise!! ahem =/\= Came another different girl’s voice this one more familiar as being the Captain’s daughter Tel’eck. Then in a really bad parody of robotic ‘cuteness’ she said =/\= Uh greetings! I am EXR-11!! I come bearing gifts from my homeworld! =/\= Tel’eck’s forced deep toned voice said failng to disguse herself really. Another giggle sounded over the speaker. Followed by a third girl’s softer hush.
