Soval paused, and a momentary sadness passed over his usually stoic features. “I regret, Captain that I can add very little to the official record.” That record was heavily redacted.” I was informed that I had undergone an attempted synaptic parcing. Regrettably much of my memory of the last few few moths before my medical retirement has been lost. As a result my personal knowledge is limited to the official record and even the unofficial record I have attempted to access has been uncharacteristically silent.” To admit that something had accrued that had created such a strong emotional dichotomy that his mind couldn’t couldn’t cope and had attempted to purge the memories was embarrassing even to a Vulcan, to be forced to admit it to his new commanding officer was beyond so. “From the record it is known I was working as a liaison with the Star Empire in an effort to share intelligence and coordinate strategies. Tho we also acted as a forward base for special operations groups on occasion. My last mission with that ship was a search for convoy 1640 escorted buy the Vigilance.” Memories intruded of the subsequent inspection of the debris And particularly the wreckage of the hulk that was the EC5 Tortuga.
He pushed them aside and waited for his Captains next question.
