USS Ark Angel

side sim - xi'Indrai's Office - Starting Over

Sharah was not doing well, and she’d made a promise. She intended to keep it. She may not have control over all the events in her life, or even her gift, but she did have the choice to take care of herself. And she hadn’t been doing a very good job of it. She’d been distracted and simply trying to get by day-to-day. She knew better, and it was always going to be a struggle. But she hadn’t finished her onboarding eval with Dr Freeman. He had wanted to be thorough and she appreciated that. But now he was gone and she had to start all over again.

Sharah was as unsure about this appointment as she had the one with Dr. Freeman. She’d always been very comfortable and very open with counselors and psychiatrists. She’d been under their care since she was a small child. Her condition, No Sharah, not condition, you aren’t sick. her gift made it necessary to work out all the mess that landed in her head. However before Dr Feeman the previous CNSs had been very unwilling to work with her and one even accused her of expecting special treatment because of it. She sighed. As far as oversensitive telepaths went, Sharah did extremely well. She wasn’t as telepathically talented as Tam Elbrum, but was was skilled and she worked hard at controlling it. Most like her didn’t have her level of control and it was exhausting. Often making her seem anti social. The mental strain required a lot of down quiet time. She enjoyed working with others, but her personal time, was reserved for herself or the very few shew as able to actually relax around. Her gift required a lot of rest. She’d been hospitalized 3 times, and she had no desire for it to happen a 4th time.

So she stood outside the counselor’s office, feeling trepidation, again. How was this CNS going to perceive her? Sharah had a lot of responsibility on her now. Now she was the CSO and she earned it, at least that’s how the CO felt, and Sharah wanted to make sure she continued to deserve it. And she had a life waiting for her, Joseph was waiting for her, and she didn’t want to miss it. She rang the chime and waited.
