”..Single mindedness can be a good thing, but don’t let it blind you from other avenues of approach or study..” Drudoc suggested. “..But can you give me an example?”

“Single mindedness does have it’s place. I probably shouldn’t admit this, but I don’t find seeing different points of view to be a problem. Probably because of my gift. Even when I don’t want to, I can hear everything around me. So since I always hear different points of view, even when I’m not really paying attention, I think it makes it easier for me to change tactics when what I’m doing doesn’t work.”

She pauses taking a bite. “For example, when I was 10 I met my adopted uncle. He was a botanist on the USS Galileo. He taught me all about plants, but that was the first time I knew that plants were used to make medicine. Even then, at 10, I was single minded. I began to research plants that might help me, and others like me. That research grew into the program that I’ve created now.”

”..I see, I remember in 2281 or so. My mother at the time was a Commander on a Romulan Te’chet class support warbird, the Falchan’s Path as I recall. She took me on a tour of the ship’s main repair bay for the shuttle’s at the time. Heh..” Drudoc smiled softly at the obviously fond memory. “..I recall she got distracted by one of the sub-lieutenant engineers talking to her and I ended up sneaking off to investigate a plasma feed I saw blinking. I ended up finding the complex flow algorithms so intricate and beautiful like a work of art in motion. Sadly those types of flow and power ebbs no longer exist, the change over soon after from matter/antimatter drives to primitive singularity cores in the 2290s saw that form of ‘art’ go out of style. The Federation’s warp drive patterns are.....sadly not quite the same, though they too have their own form of beauty I found.” She explained.

“I think there is a beauty in the way the universe works, and what we can create. Each has beauty and uniqueness. We has humanoids have the ability to create such amazingly beautiful things. I guess I’m a bit of an optimist that way. Or maybe because I hear too much, I need to see it that way.”

”..To create, to destroy, to conquer, to remake, to bring to life, so many things in a blink of an eye. Such is ours to design and bring to order..” Drudoc said as of quoting something or someone fondly.

”..Sorry, it’s a verse from an old Romulan scripture piece. Among my people of older belief is that we have a ‘path’ to be ‘among the stars’. What form that takes has always been of much debate among our people but the most obvious and favored was of a more conquering sort sadly. I admit at one time to subscribing to that until my time during the Dominion War. During such times, war I mean, .....changes you in ways you can’t expect and in what you experience. It was during this time I realized I wanted to one day be the first Romulan in Starfleet after serving with them during the War.” She said.

Drudoc seemed about to say more when a chirp from her comm panel over by the work station came to life. =/\= NE Rel’eck to Fleet Captain Andone, you got a comm call from a Commander Watson.=/\= The NE said.

”..Seems our improved meeting is at an end for now Ensign. If you could excuse me I’ll let you see yourself out and/or say goodbye to Tel’eck if you wish. I need to take this call. Commander Watson needs my input on Starfleet’s efforts to provide aid and supplies for trade from the Rol’tol colonies which broke away from the remains of the Star Empire in 2389..” She said rising and wiping her mouth off and straightening her uniform.

Sharah had been about to respond when the comm went off. “Thank you for lunch, Captain.” Sharah stood, straightened herself out and decided that she would tell Tel’eck bye. She quietly walked over to the door and knocked. When the door opened, “Hey Tel’eck, how’s the programming going? I’ve got to get back to work. But I wanted to say bye and thank you for letting me have lunch with you and your mom.”

“If you have time later, come by, I have a project in the arboretum I could use help with if your up for it.”
