The search would reveal that the Montezuma was listed on a “self-assigned” scientific mission, located in a newly formed Nebula known as the Lion’s Mane Nebula, due to how it’s ring-like shape flared out from the center. The Montezuma’s class listing showed that it was a ‘refit’ Galaxy class, with no mention on what the refit entailed or how the ship had been changed. Mission assignment logs showed no mention–by name–of this mythical Pandiri, however a brief line did mention a planet.

“While there, perform sensor scans. Long range scans show a planet less than 3 light years from the nebula, however, ships in the area have not seen such, so it could have just been a sensor glitch or shadow of a long gone world.”

”..So why were you in the shuttle we found you in? If the ship was disabled but not lost with all hands why not send out a warp buoy probe or distress call?” She inquired. Drudoc could not help asking the question the part of her that would forever be inquiring about every detail was duty bound to ask.

“Because the area of space we were in isn’t frequented by ships willing or capable of helping. We could send out a distress call, but the likelihood it’d be picked up by a friendly target was less than what our Commanding Officer would’ve like, I volunteered to take a shuttle out in search of help.” Codem was slightly thrown off by the question–he hadn’t expected it, but he didn’t lie when he answered it.

”..Fair enough, Lieutenant. If you can pass onto me the last coordinates of where the Montezuma was located I’ll get my ship course set to begin our search. In the meantime I want you and your crew mates to under go standard evaluations by medical and counseling. I would also like each of you to give your views on the attack to security and an incident report. Somewhat droll things but PADD work in times like this and in events like this is important in case the worse has befallen the Montezuma..” She said.

”..Any questions?” She asked.

“I can do you one better.” Codem said, transferring the data for his research and a few other things to Izzin before he wiped it off the PADD and handed it to Drudoc. “Coordinates of the Nebula, the Montezuma, and this supposed planet. I’d recommend we head for the planet.”

”..That’ll go a long way to helping our search. Thank you Lieutenant. I’ll leave you to get your evaluations and reports done..” She said.

Once any further questions were followed up on Drudoc dismissed Codem from the briefing room.

As Codem left, he smirked slightly, making a mental note to re-download all of that data from Izzin before they got to Pandiri.
