Hayley was quite intrigued by her conversation with Ensign Fayth. She had always been fascinated by the use of plant based medications by Earth’s early peoples and cultures. She decided to head for the Ark Angel’s larger Arboretum. Maybe the Ensign would be there and they could continue the conversation. Even if not, she thought she might enjoy some green space for a change. As she entered the large area she couldn’t help taking a deep breath. It smelt just like home.

Oddly enough the large arboretum was empty this time of day. There were a few NE’s wandering around, looking a little frantic as they worked on the flower beds. A few had been neglected and they’d obviously been ordered to take care of it. Sharah had come in this morning deciding to start with the largest Arboretum on board. Making an assumption that it was visited the most. But apparently Alpha shift was not one of those times. Sharah was grateful for that, she had slept okay, but not great and the ship had so many people, so many minds. It would not be a quick adjustment. For the most part the arboretum was in good repair. She’d sent off a couple NEs to clean up a couple beds that had gotten over grown. She was working on moving a few that were in the wrong type of environment, before they died. She felt another person enter the arboretum and stood up and moved towards the entrance. She saw Lt. Marshall and smiled. “Lt. Marshall, good morning!” She had dirt on the knees and sleeves of her uniform. She pulled off gardening gloves and dusted them off on her pant’s leg. “How are you?”

OOC: So just a small note as the designer of the Mythology class the arboretums are taken care of day to day by civilians usually among the crew, not saying there cant be NEs helping but just for the full flavor use of the spec thought i’d chime in. Now with that said.....

Just as Fayth spoke, the large arboretum’s one set of doors slide open revealing two children chasing each other. The one in front was quickly recognized by most among the crew as the 8 year old half-romulan/human daughter of the ship’s Captain. Tel’eck Andone was being chased by another human girl of similar age. “..I got you Tel’eck you gotta fall freeze now!” the girl shouted.

”..Nu uh, your laser tag never registered on my vest!” Tel’eck shot back, each girl holding little toy laser tag devices with small vests to record hits and such.

”..Oh come on that was SO a hit!” The second girl said taking cover by a bench as Tel’eck took cover by a thick bundle of brush among one of the paths.

Sharah ‘heard’ the girls coming before the doors opened, though she wouldn’t recognize them. As the door opened she looked away from the doctor and grinned. The CSO had warned her. She moved to intercept Tel’eck. “Good morning Tel’eck. I didn’t expect you to visit me so soon.” She put out a hand. “Don’t hide in there. See that sign” she pointed to one a foot away from her warning visitors not to touch that bush. “The thorns can hurt and will break off and stay in your skin. I wouldn’t want that. That’s why there are signs up.” She told Tel’eck. She thought quickly. She could tell that the arboretum staff, officers and civilians, were dreading the two hyper children being there. She’d spoken with the civilian staff and there was a large bed needing to be tore up. “I have the perfect place for the two of you to play in here. Wanna see?” She motioned over to the other girl. “But no shooting each other till we get there. I don’t want to get hit by accident,” she teased them.

Hayley waited until Sharah had had a chance to redirect the children before replying. “I am well, thank you, it is lovely in here. I don’t know why I haven’t made time to come here sooner.”

After settling the girls in a safer area, Sharah returned. “It really is. I haven’t gotten a good look at it yet. I’ve been talking with the staff all morning. This one is massive though! I’ve never seen an arboretum on a ship this big. And there are two more.”
En Fayth, Science

“Looks like a lovely place to work, I can imagine it can be pretty peaceful sometimes, though not always I suppose.” She remarked, looking back at the children careening about. They brought back childhood memories of playing similar games with her brother, Jacob, back on earth.

Sharah nodded, “I love working with plants. I’m looking forward to delving into what all is here. My understanding is that one of the smaller arboretums is mostly unused. So I’m thinking of setting it up for medical and science for their needs.” Sharah glances back to make sure the children are still where they are supposed to be. If she could swing it the other smaller arboretum would be designed as a children’s garden. There were too many dangerous plants in this one. The girls hadn’t been paying attention and she would’t want them to get hurt. Her childhood had been very serious. She was glad to see Tel’eck had a friend on board. She was lucky her mother was CO of a ship so big that there was room for families. “So, what can I do for you Doctor?”
