[snip]Sharah looked stunned, “A gag order? From Betazed?” She spoke with her parents regularly, and Andrew, her brother, would have told her if something serious was going on at home, that her parents wanted to shield from her. “I don’t know about any gag order. But I make my own decisions. Out here, on a star ship, I am under star fleet orders, not the orders of the planetary government. And even if they did, for someone like me, a gag order would be near to impossible to adhere to.” Something else he said caught her attention, “They shipped other Betazoid’s back to Betazed? Why? What happened?” Obviously Sharah had not heard about any of this.
Sharah dismissed his apology with a wave of his hand. “Don’t apologize. It’s not necessary. You are welcome company among the plethora of strangers. So far I’m not sure. Everyone here has been very welcoming. She’s much bigger than what I am used to. My last two assignments were discovery class vessels. 13 decks total. Ark Angel is a monster.” She said with a laugh.
En. Fayth, Science - BotanistTrax did not know what to say at first but his mind started to piece things together. “Thank you, ensign.” Trax said finally. “MY mother started the hell for me she couldn’t get her way now my life is a total mess. lost promotion, lost position, now I have been slapped down to ensign and jo officer again. As usual, she wanted control of my life. I heard a few were sent home because of the change the planetary government and there view being clouded by my mother since she is one of the larger houses on betazed beside the house of Troi and the monarch.” Trax waved the waitress down and asked for a Sumerian sunset as he sighed hard before continuing.” Ambassador Roni and his aide Rax had to steal me back and bring me back to the archangel because of the unrest and upheaval my mother caused. so there is a gag order and I am exiled from returning home and there are threats of them hiring Orion mercenaries now to attempt to kidnap me. so that’s one reason for the heightened security. And now there on betazed gathering the rest of what they need before returning to the ark angel as a resident ambassador.” Trax said he felt lost again. “I am sorry ensign for putting my baggage on you that is for me to give the counselor.”

Sharh could feel his sense of loss. To never be able to return home again. Betazed had never felt like home for her. With her gift being what it was, she was a pariah even where she should have felt sanctuary. But she had discovered that home, for her, was a person, a feeling that she choose for herself. It wasn’t a place that was forced upon her at birth. “I am sorry Trax. I can not imagine being in your position. But if you will forgive the bluntness,” and wasn’t that funny, Betazoids were notoriously blunt, but being among other species for so long Sharah had learned that tact became a necessary skill, “the larger houses have far too much power and self importance. After the resistance and occupation by the Dominion I would have thought that our people would understand that. It wasn’t just the great houses that saved our people. It was all of us, no matter the size or age of the house. It’s too bad for us as a people.” She took a bite of her food and then washed it down with her drink. “Betazed was never much of a home for me. Perhaps you will find where you really belong out here with this crew, or perhaps another.” She found it strange though that his mother could force the captain to demote him and remove him from his position. That wreaked of rotten fish to her.
En. Fayth, Science - BotanistTrax ate his food and soaked up her words as he thought on them. Your right but it was not the captain star fleet command went over her head to demote me. even protesting the command or order it did no good. I was demoted.” As trax tried to clarify the matter. “But your right or at least I hoped it would be alright, But I might have no choice but to go into hiding. That would mean resigning my commission and losing my career here and become a lost soul of the universe.” Trax commented with a heavy heart. “And i would of course lose everything that is left, what friends I have, my lover and what I have left of the family.”

She couldn’t feel anything about him that would warrant that type of treatment. “I’m probably overstepping myself here, but what did they accuse you of? What did your mother say that convinced SF command to interfere in a family matter, at most a private matter of a planet’s society? That’s a direct violation of the Prime Directive.” She shook her head. “I doubt your friends or your lover would abandon you so easily.” She hoped not for him. What a horrible situation Trax had been put into.
En Fayth, Science - Botanist“I am not certain on what she said to cause, command to do what they did but apparently Betazed pulled a trump card and I was gone pretty much. ” Trax said calmly. “Almost all communications have ceased for me from Betazed.” Trax said as he finished off his thoughts. ” I am supposed they haven’t closed their borders. Relations are rather shaky now too.” Trax sighed hard before he continued. “It all started as mother wanted my seeds to help restore the population of betazed as she convinced the ruling council of the frail nature of the homeworld. Which there were no such issues. They tried to force me into an unofficial arranged marriage. Without my consent or wishes and my lifestyle choices would conflict even more things.” Trax was not going to lie to her but there was no reason too.
Genetic bonding was common on Betazed, or it used to be. When she had been younger, Sharah had resented that her gift, her condition, had broken her brother’s marriage arrangement. None had never been attempted for her. Now that she was older, she was thankful for the distaste people had for not wanting to pass on her genetics. It gave her Joseph, and there was no one else who she was meant to be with. She could not fathom having to give him up because of a contract her parents made. She was sure that Trax probably felt the same way about his lover. Even if they were not Imzadi, when he found that person, it would be a horrible thing to have to walk away. She was immensely grateful that most people on Betazed had moved away from that custom. She felt for Trax being put in that position. “We are all individuals, Trax. And though it might be hard it is worth it to stand up for what you want out of life. I’m not sure I can help, but if there is anything, even to listen, tell me.”
As he finished off everything left on his plate as he ordered another drink. “I am surprised they did not just send me home, killing my service with the fleet and this ship.” Trax said as he downed the last bit of his old beverage as he waited for another one. “I appreciate the company. Ensign Fayth!” Trax said politely to her. “What else is on your agenda? Have you checked with everyone yet?” Trax asked as he tried to change the subject.
Ensign Trax Suder - Jo Doctor
“Right now, just a meal and then get settled into my quarters. I’ve finished all my check-ins. I had hoped to at least get a glance at the arboretums today, but I think I will have to save that for early tomorrow. I have no idea how well they have been maintained. So I may have a lot of work ahead of me, or none at all.” She was also looking forward to the peacefulness that the work brought to her chaotic mind.
En Fayth, Science - Botanist
“Good now you can take your time and get settled in and take in the sites the ship has to offer.” Trax said with a half smile. I know the check ins can be a bear but its nice to have them all done.” He said sincerely to her. “Well if there is a lot of work or not you will be fine the arboridum will be in fine hands.”
