[snip]Stepping up to the replicator Sharah ordered her favorite, grilled cheese and a glass of ice water. She retrieved the tray and turned, eager to find a table were the crowd was thinnest she bumped another officer by accident. Luckily she didn’t spill anything, “I am so sorry.” She looked up at her eyes went wide. Oh great! I just literally ran into the captain! “Captain, Ma’am. I apologize” She came to an awkward attention while trying to balance her tray of food out of the way of getting jostled by the dinner crowd. The day had been going so well too.

The 6‘2 female Romulan ranked Fleet Captain, commanding officer on the Ark Angel. Looked to Fayth. “..It’s alright Ensign. No harm done. At ease before you sprain or drop something..” She said politely.
The CO stood almost a foot taller than Sharah and she took a step back so she wouldn’t hurt her neck looking up. She relaxed and smiled, “Thank you, Captain. I’m En Sharah Fayth.”
A giggle just behind her cued Fayth in to a shorter version of the Romulan Captain. Standing at 4‘11 or so the girl had a lighter black hue of hair then Drudoc’s raven black hair with faint streaks of silver. The child’s eyes were a deep dark blue-green, compared to Drudoc’s dark jade green. Dressed in a crazy mix of colored clothes the girl despite all this stood prideful like the Captain. Getting a glance from the Capain, Drudoc spoke. “..Ah let me introduce my daughter, Tel’eck Andone..” She added.
Sharah’s attention was quickly caught by the precocious child. She smiled and took in the similarity between mother and daughter. “It is very nice to meet you Tel’eck Andone,” she said. “I’m Sharah Fayth, but you can call me Sharah.”
Waving the 8 or so year old girl’s hair swayed a bit showing a forehead ridge and ears not quite like the Captain’s possibly indicating less then a pure Romulan child. “..Hiya!” She said cheerfully. “..You’re one of the new arrivals aint’cha! My class’s teacher was talking about talking to some of you about a field trip to the arboretums!..” she said.
Drudoc Andone / Tel’ekc Andone
Suddenly life seemed to come full circle for her. She remembered being just a bit older than Tel’eck and meeting Oliver, in the arboretum for the first time. A brand new posting for him. He’d barely been on board a week when she had entered his domain and made a complete mess. She’d gotten into every flower bed and tracked dirt everywhere. She had even laid down in the flower beds a few times. “I am one of the new arrivals. And I guess your teacher will be talking to me. I’m here to take over the care of the arboretums.” She remembered how calm Oliver had been with her despite her flightiness and distraction. “Who is your teacher? I’ll be sure to look for her to come see me.”

”..That’d be Ms Rayan, she teaches most of the 2nd and 3rd grade level kids like me! She’s probably even here somewhere given its her break period I think today..” Tel’eck replied.
”..Yes, normally Tel’eck and the other children would be in class right now, but the teacher’s are having a meeting above us in 17/Forward to discuss arrangements of upcoming lesson plans and field trips..” Drudoc chimed in.
“I will make sure to talk to Ms. Rayan about it. But I’ve only just arrived this morning so it may be a couple weeks before I have the arboretums ready. But you are welcome to come visit anytime, as long as it’s okay with your mom.” Wow, if Oliver could hear her now. Hadn’t he told her the same thing, once upon a time?
”..We’re studying alternative history this and next week! Its SO cool to discuss what ifs at different points of history..” Tel’eck beamed.
Sharah raised her brows and smiled. “That is very interesting. There are so many possibilities to consider. Maybe you can tell me some time.” Tel’eck seemed very excited about the idea of what ifs, and Sharah knew, that what ifs could be endless.
Looking to her daughter then who stepped up for her turn at the replicator and ordering a grilled cheese thick slices of bacon and tomato, it was clear to anyone how much the young girl was loved by her Mother. Turning away though as the girl took her tray and went to a table Drudoc said to Fayth. “..You are welcome to join us at our table if you wish to discuss any matters or concerns?” She offered.
Drudoc Andone CO
“Oh, thank you, Captain. Actually, I won’t interrupt your meal, but I was wondering if there was something specific you had in mind for the arboretums. My background in botany is unique and since the CSO has transferred, I was curious.” She walked with them towards a table, not intending to interrupt their family meal, and looking for a table for herself. It had been a very long day and she still had to unpack a few things at least.
En Fayth, Science - BotanistTrax walked into the forward lounge as he felt lost and not sure what to do as he calmly and quietly moved through the room to a corner booth to take a seat and go over the minor list of messages from what family and friends that defied the order to isolate him from betazed and others to force him to return home. Trax could get messages to Rax or Ambassador Roni of Betazed for more comfort. He hoped they would make it back before the blockage the planet from others entering or exiting the system. by Starfleet means or the government of Betazed.
As he placed the padd on the table a bit harder than he had intended. As the heard the waitress come over to him. “Hello, Doctor! What can I get for you?” Trax slowly looked towards her. with a truly sad look on his face that she never saw before on him. as he finally spoke. “How about a large chef salad with poppy seed dressing. A large iced tea and a hot fudge sundae.” Trax finally got out. “There is no rush on that Rose.” Trax finished as he turned away as he stared at the table for a long minute before looking out the windows of the local space in view outside the viewports.

Sharah left the captain her daughter to enjoy their meal, uninterrupted by her. As Sharah looked for a table she was suddenly hit by an overwhelming sense of loss and regret, or grief, she wasn’t sure. She realized the mind it came from was Betazoid. How did she know that? Instinct probably. Most Betazoids could recognize another. She looked about identifying the young man the feelings had come from. His all black eyes confirming her thought that he was indeed Betazoid. The last Betazoid she had served with hadn’t liked her too much. But then she had her own issues to work through and Sharah felt like she was afraid other Betazoid would know what she was struggling with and spread her personal business. Which, a Betazoid in their universe, would never do that. She approached the man, her overwhelming empathy making it difficult to ignore her need to help others. She hoped to at least find a kindred spirit from home. “Good evening,” she said. This was awkward for her. Sharah never initiated social interactions. She wasn’t comfortable with them, but the tables were filling up. “I’m sorry to impose on you. The other tables are full, I was hoping you wouldn’t mind the company of another Betazoid.” That sounded awkward even to her. She supposed she should have taken her food back to her quarters. It would be quieter there, but she was trying to make an effort to integrate into the crew and learn to surf above the noise that was beginning to overwhelm.
