USS Ark Angel

Side Sim - Ready Room - Calling Eve

Posted by Fleet Captain Drudoc Andone (Commanding Officer) in Side Sim - Ready Room - Calling Eve
[snip]

Each incident had caused a corrosion of Eve’s socialization routine, the code that had been written to enable easy conversation, welcoming interactions and genuine friendships was becoming corrupted, line by line, into a program that instead dictated solitude, isolation and individual protection. And yet while each of these events had represented a level one defect in the android’s progression, to be abandoned by her own child was a catastrophic overload.

And so, as Eve entered the office of the Ark Angel’s Captain in response to her summons, Drudoc might immediately notice the change in her synthetic demeanor. Gone was the illusion of emotion and personality, to be replaced by the very definition of an unthinking, unfeeling hunk of metal and conduits.

“Lt Eve reporting as ordered, Ma’am,” the words arrived on a monotone, androgynous vocalization.

Drudoc looked up as the android came in, she could tell without much looking something was wrong. Not just in the unit’s hardware but its complex software routines. For the moment though she focused on the task at hand. “..Lieutenant Eve, do come in.” she said gesturing to the chair. “..I would like to inquire about your behavior regarding Jaberwock. Despite being ordered to clear the bay you and Ensign Kala insisted on remaining and giving it a ‘tour’ of the ship. Despite the aforementioned orders otherwise and the fact on its own initiative of life was trying to move on. Have you anything to say for yourself?” She asked.

Drudoc Andone CO

The android folded her body into the chair and fixed an unwavering, synthetic gaze on her Captain. For a few moments she offered no reply to the question asked of her, although, had Andone become accustomed to Eve’s repertoire of physical gestures over the years, she might notice that the manner in which the synth usually angled her head when calculating a verbal output was not displayed at this precise moment. As if Eve already knew exactly what to say, but was forcing the other to wait until she chose to say it.

Then finally, with the same, emotionless tone, she replied, “How is Tel’eck, Ma’am? Do you choose to lock her in the cargo bay when she would prefer to investigate her home?”
