OK, So I finally got around to finishing the first part of this one - i.e the first five chapters, unfortunately didn’t get as much time on each as I would have liked. So, here’s my initial thoughts on the book so far.

I think that the book balances action and downtime pretty well, reading of fights and then times of conversation, and not overplaying a particular area. That being said, I think the flow of the book leaves something to be desired as at times I found it hard to follow with the way the dialogue seemed to “jump around” a bit. This was only really true in dialogue between two characters where it felt like I missed something, but the conversation jumped around and I only realised that later, so I think they could have been written a bit more smoothly.

My favourite part so far has to be when the tracker met leopard and started to learn about his own talents, but I feel the book still has more to offer - I’ll post again when I finish the second section, which may change my opinions so far - what do other people think? Did they find parts hard to follow or is it just me?

Thanks for your partial review, Ben! Am looking forward to reading your next one. I definitely want to get reading it now that I see this your comments. The month of December swamped me so much that I haven’t had time to start it yet. I have added it to my list to do so.
