Are you doing NaNoWriMo this year? If so, along with your local events, join in and cheer on your fellow STFers as they tackle whatever their writing goal.

If you feel like it, let everyone know what you’re planning to do this year. Here’s a sample set of things you can share.

I’ll go first:

Goal: at least 50,000 words
Old School: This is a brand new novel.
Plantser: I’ve outlined quite a bit and have 32 scenes I know I need to write, but the rest I’ll figure out as I go.
Genre: Historical
Subject: Set mainly in 1908 Alberta, a family is divided when some of them, members of a religious sect, stand trial for attempted murder.

I’m planning to make the attempt this year, since I haven’t been able to complete any long form creative work in like 8 years.

I have nothing planned but a single rough character idea, and the intention of using M-W’s word of the day as a prompt.

I successfully used that schtick to write a 30 chapters in 30 days back in 07, and it was exhausting but fun. It wasn’t anywhere near 50k words, but it was fun.

We’ll see how this goes…

I’m doing Nanowrimo this year! :D

NaNo Goal: 50K Words, however if I can beat my 17k last year, I’ll be happy.
Rebel: I’m continuing a current one, however I will include word count for one blog post I’m working on (since I wasn’t able to finish it last month.)
Plotter/Pantser/Plantser: Plantser for sure, I have quite a bit outlined and in my head, but I’m confident I’ll discover more as I go.
Genre: Fantasy
Project Subject: The son of a farmer discovers a key with powers and abilities unknown to him. Soon, he’s left with nothing but that single key when everything/everyone he knows and loves burns to ground in a massive blaze. Without a home, he’s forced to run. He will discover new friends, allies, and races he never knew existed.
