It's October and that means it's time for the skeletons to get out of our closets as we bring you another rendition of 20 Questions with Kate O'Neill. This month I was given the spooktacular privilege of interviewing Parisa Foothoi for the October Newsletter. In her 8 years here, she had held several club positions but I think she is best known for creative and fun characters. Parisa's brand of whimsical mischief has given laughs and thrills to those who have been able to post with her. Parisa, aka Awesome Chipmunk, joined the club on June 11, 2011. Her first character was security cadet Laura Jenkins on the USS Endeavor. After graduating from the USS Endeavor she joined the USS Odin where she served as COS and then XO over here tenure. Her character Murphy Law best embodied Murphy's Law where whatever could happen to her character did: trapped in a turbo lift, always got lost, replicators giving her oatmeal instead of pizza. You name it, it happened. Eventually, she was given command of the USS Chernov under the character of Captain Tristan Shandy.

Parisa's STF nickname, Chipmunk, was given to her by Steven Sigle when she assumed the "big seat" of the USS Chernov. This name embodies all the wonderful traits of her personality. Just like her namesake, Parisa brings joy, fun, energy, and optimism into your life. You can't spend more than a few minutes with her before you find yourself laughing and wondering why it took you so long to meet her. Chipmunk people never waste their energy on unnecessary worries and imagined problems. They are loyal, kind, caring, very supportive as well. She demonstrates this quality of her animal namesake by being down to earth and always there to give solid advice or listen to any problem you come to her with.

Parisa was quoted as saying she was the AFComm of Meridian fleet "many moons ago." As you will read later in the interview, she loves her moons and has detailed plans about what you can do with a moon.

Security Exam Proctor
Parisa is best known for her security characters in recent years so if you ever wondered if you should use a type 1 or type two phaser, bat'leth or mak'leth, or just a jab or right hook, she knew just what to use. If you don't choose wisely that will be five points however off your test. She is a TA in real life so she knows what to look for.

While her current character's backstory is based in security, Parisa is a genuine rocket scientist. She spent her master's degree learning to get you into space. She is now getting her PH'd to return you safe and sound.

 My favorite food...very tough one but I do like the Persian dish Kabob Koobedeh.  It satisfies my meat cravings.  (I think I was a T-Rex in my past life :P)   2.  What is your favorite novel you have read?   I have a lot of favorites, so I can't really answer that, but I have read Jane Eyre 12 times now.  That's the most times I ever read a book, so I think that will qualify as a favorite book.   3.  If you were a pizza topping what topping would you be?   I would be a pineapple.  Super sweet, but also strange too.  For some reason, people find pineapple on pizza weird.   4.  What is your favorite classical musician? Beethoven!  I mean the music is amazing, but his hair is even better :P   5.  If you could build a hidden fortress of evil where would you build it? The Moon, Mars, Under the Sea, or Orbiting Earth. A fortress of evil doesn't sound super exciting, but I am an aspiring future Evil Overlord with plans of taking over the universe and every parallel one as well.  So my first base would be on the Moon to first take control of the Earth.  Then I will work my way out from there.   6.  If you could write a theme song for one of your characters what would it be?   I would probably write a theme song for my older character, Murphy Law.  Something that's a bit quirky, and hard to take too seriously.   7.  Which Star Trek Captain would you most which to serve under and why? Capt. Janeway since she is a badass woman.  Plus the idea of exploring the other side of the galaxy sounds amazing.   8.  If you discovered you had superpowers which super-team would you want to join? Avengers, Hydra, X-Men, Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Justice League, or Legion of Doom. Avengers so I could hang out with the cute guys there like Thor or Capt America etc.   9.   If you could live in the world of one fictional universe,  which would it be and why? Star Trek universe.  I became an aerospace engineer to make space travel possible.   10. If you could move to any city in the world where would you move? Probably Berlin.  I really loved the area when I went on vacation there.     11.  Which is a harder subject in Engineering, Fluid Dynamics or Thermo Dynamics? As someone specializing in Fluid Dynamics, I would say Thermo Dynamics since the last time I did anything in that was several years ago.  But as an undergrad, both are just as hard.   12.  Which is better?  Marvel Comics or DC Comics? Marvel!  DC is so dark, moody, depressing most of the time.      13.  If you could own a starship, which would you own? Millennium Falcon (Star Wars), Enterprise (Star Trek),  TARDIS (Doctor Who) or Orville (Orville) The TARDIS since the idea of time traveling sounds super appealing.   14.  Are you a morning or night person? I'm a night person   15. What kind of pet would you prefer? Rancor (Star Wars), Tribble (Star Trek) TRIBBLE!  they are so cute and fluffy and it is so entertaining to see the Klingon reaction to them.   16.  What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? Mint Chocolate Chip   17. What was your favorite musical group/band as a teenager? Mozart and Beethoven :P  Spent most of my time listening to classical music.    18.  Do you play an instrument? I play the piano and violin.     19.  How many languages do you speak? I know 2.5 languages: Farsi, English, and quite a bit of French     20.  What is on your bucket list that no one will complete with you?   I really want to go skydiving.  Unfortunately, people think I am crazy.
