Hey guys!

I’m looking at creating a post specifically about theme in the next week or two.

Are there other topics pertaining to writing that you are interested in hearing more about? I, and other writers here, would love to hear from you! Feel free to comment or send me an email. :)

What kind of themes have people suggested or you have in mind so far? I’d love to see more of these resources for our members.

Well, my posts are basically designed to assist people with writing fiction. Wo anything that falls within that category. I’ve been studying novel writing for years and am currently working on a trilogy. So the info I’m sharing is pretty fresh with a bunch of resources for me to help write/instruct.

I have not received word from anyone on what future topics pertaining to writing they would like to see, but I do have a wide range of ideas.

-Theme
-Apt Settings
-Dialogue
-Characterization
-Soliloquoy
-Background information
-Description
-Character Arcs
-Story Structure

Again these are ideas, and I’m trying to tailor them to those of us writing here in STF. But all of it has helped me write better.

I’m also open to other ideas anyone wants to explore that I haven’t mentioned. :)

Three that come to mind …

-Show Don’t Tell
-Writing ‘Tasteful’ Romances either as a romance book in its own right or as part of a different genre :P (yes, I know that sex is dirty if done right, but I’m also of the opinion that some things should be left to the imagination and that we don’t necessarily need to know the details of what happens beside closed doors - if you need to be told, you probably are too young :)
-Single vs Multiple POV (George RR Martin I’m looking at YOU!)

Russ, I know you’ve been helping out with this a bit. Do you want to do more of the articles? If so, which ones take your fancy?

Perhaps a joint article on positive and effective RP between writers?

A lot of novel material focuses on one writer which is just fine, but when you have another person in the story that can change the outcome sometimes people lose sight of what co-operative writing is. I think it would be great to have an article with methods and tips to write positively with another person, especially when unexpected events are created?

Things such as not taking over a thread, letting another person’s character have an impact, writing your own post in such a way that you give the other person something to work from (with examples) and not by railroading them into one course.

That’s excellent! Definitely something for the hub! Its easy to rub up against other people the wrong way through what we do. I’ve seen it, and its not necessarily anyone’s fault.

An article looking into that would definitely be a bonus! Were you hoping to write that article yourself Dave? Or does somebody else want it? I’m open to writing it, but I’m not the type to just start taking ideas and doing what I want. I’m open to writing about anything so long as it helps at least someone! So I’m not picky. ;)
