There had been much gossip around the zoo that the Fossa had been plotting something. But no one could confirm what she had been up to. A few of the animals hand heard rumors, the Rhino had his theory, as did the Fox. The Panda might’ve known, but she wouldn’t say. When asked the Fossa repeated the line “It’s a surprise for later.” But she’d never say what.

One day the Fossa called everyone to gather, and do it in a hurry. The Cockroach took a while to find a good seat, where he could see. The Zebra settled in the back. The Armadillo rolled in and took a good seat right up front. The Wyvern and the Pelican were content to hover overhead. The Giraffe peaked his head over all the seats. There was a special podium made out of milk crates prepared in the center of the room.

“Ladies, gents, and everyone else.” the Fossa began. “I have a very special announcement.” She waved for the Gorilla to come out and help. He brought out a box, and held his hand over the lid, ready to open it. The Fossa continued. “I would like you all to welcome a new member to our little crowd.”
“Crowd’s a good word for it.” The Tribble interjected. The Fossa nodded to the Gorilla and the box was opened. “Everyone welcome… the Gecko to the zoo!”

Licks both eyeballs and stands up on hind legs to speak

Thank you Sage! What a wonderful surprise as we approachthe holiday season! I love my animal name and am elated to be inducted into the Zoo as the Gecko. Additionally I feel so honored to be joining an amazing group of animals.

Now since I have a space in the STF Zoo…
scurries to box on all four, pulls out a small piece of paper, and reads from it

I hope you all have prepared a 34 gallon reptilian glass terrarium tank, with a hiding rock lined with peat moss and since I am a vegetarian gecko, I will also require an assortment of pureed or finely diced fruit and veggies :)
