Cadet upon cadet appeared,
All demanding to be reared,
One member said ‘hi’, one said ‘hey’,
But another was there to see them stay,
Fifty posts a day rained down,
Yet not once did she sport a frown.

Four kiddies are now her department heads,
The rest off to jump on someone else’s bed,
I am one of those mere bairns,
But I saw her laying out the cairns,
The land layed so we’d walk then run,
Others helped but led by one.

My view is limited I confess,
But what I have seen I really must stress,
This one leads in a way I trust,
All involved without feeling bossed,
Her captainship made this for me a hame,
I foresee the whole club strengthened by the same.

It was one of our presidential candidates who faced what could have been an absolute mess in the form of an onslaught of new members, with from my point of view perhaps an inordinate portion of the pressure on her own shoulders, and forged a great success.

As a means of highlighting the perspective of this new member on the open, engaged and supportive leadership I experienced in the Academy and have continued to since graduating as an Academy DH, I am endorsing Sarah Hemenway for President along with Robert Archer for Vice-President of STF.

(I apologise for subjecting you to such a sorry excuse for poetry but… blame the coordinators!)
