Hello everyone!

We have enjoyed sharing our platform, “Member Support from Top to Bottom,” with you over the last two weeks. While we do have some posts planned for next week, they’re the more light-hearted variety. :) We’d like to take this time to summarize our platform, provide a combined list of the action items, and invite any remaining questions you might have. Should we be elected, we are committed to providing a public view of these action items, as well as their current status, to the membership. We’ve tried to ensure that they are actionable and achievable with the right team in place and we truly believe the platform we have presented here will help solidify STF for the coming years, if not decades.

Bringing the Unique Back

Action Items:
- Reach out to members playing custom species to assist in documenting the species in the Reference Manual.
- Ensure the Reference Manual process is clear and available and refocused on documenting custom species creations.
- Remove canon resources from the RM with the availability of other much better comprehensive resources such as Memory Alpha.
- Document and distribute a process for Alt-RPGs to be proposed to the club. While a member can do this at any time in Command, this is not well-known and this information needs to be widely available.
- Evaluate the standards for a “Standard Ship” and whether we can better define what “Standard” means and what “Alt” means in our club’s context. Should a ship like the Ogawa, for example, truly be an “Alt” RPG?

Action Items:
- Work with FComms, who will then work with COs, to ensure that OOC and IC promotions are happening in a timely fashion for dedicated new members.
- Work with FComms, who will then work with COs, on prioritizing new members for opportunities like DH positions and command-level vacancies. While it can be a lot easier to have experienced members in these roles, these awesome new contributors deserve an opportunity to succeed at them as well, with proper support. It can be disheartening to see the same people having several DH positions when that feels like an unobtainable step and we’d like to see if we can tackle this so that new members get those opportunities and older members don’t end up feeling burned out by the sheer quantity of IC and OOC work demanded.
- Create a list of needed OOC tasks that are accessible to new members that would like to begin to learn about government and what it takes to keep STF running. The PDept has done an exemplary job of this over the last few terms, leveraging new members to conduct page reviews and learn about ship placement procedures.
- Reform the ship vacancies process to ensure that COs are regularly updating their vacancies and that these vacancies are easily viewable. As our membership numbers slowly increase, there will be a greater demand for players wanting to know where they can add second or third characters or try out a new position. Having this information easily updatable and accessible bridges the communication gap between command staff and newbies, particularly when one or both sides may not be active in Discord.
- Codify a plan for a recommendations system.

Documenting and Sharing Experience

Action Items:
- Provide a clear outline of responsibilities for various leadership positions in STF, from DH positions to CO positions to FComms to various QDirs and EAs. These job descriptions will be crafted collaboratively with the membership to ensure that they best reflect STF’s history, STF’s present, and the desire for what STF’s future should be.
- Support TECH and the Librarian in order to get the STF Library onto the new system that is integrated into Exodus.
- Outline and then begin formation of a series of New Member Courses.
