Finally, I would like to point out what happened to one of the most long serving and beloved members of this club… Admiral Larry Garfield. Larry basically threw up his hands and left after nearly 20 years because a simple request was flatly denied in dealing with the last moments of his equally beloved “Monty the Python”. That whole mess is what I’m talking about when I say that the influence of a small group or even how the negative actions of a single person, can drive amazing writers away from this club.

Please can Candidates and non candidates refrain from making reference to situations with members that are not based on first hand accounts, I have received a complaint that this particular situation is slightly taken out of context here and having reviewed the posts regarding this I agree.

Please when using examples can we ensure the context is shown.

We’re all people Thomas, people that love writing and some… like myself… have felt for too long that they have been prevented from serving because of an established hierarchy that can tend to keep the fun to themselves. Your statement about being “pushed out” tells me you don’t truly understand the importance some people place on service… and that’s ok.

Please, as I have cautioned others so far this election, can we try not infer intent or understanding based on members posts.
